Bit of a let-down

We were looking forward to our dinner, but it turned out to be a bit modest. Service was hectic yet very slow (bit like headless chicken running around aimlessly...) and the food was definitely below the standards of the other restaurants where we had meals this weekend. Will not go back.

Dropped in for lunch and after waiting almost 30 minutes for our order to be taken we complained only to be abused by the owner. Did not get to eat as we left and found a much more friendly and quality resturant along the street. I can see why they are rated 16 out of 18 restaurants in Neive. Wish... More

We ate here for lunch on our way to La Spinetta winery. The chicken stew was excellent. We would return just for that.

We had so many wonderful meals on our trip to the Piedmont wine country that courses rather than meals became memorable. The first course at La Contea was 'soft pie of eggs and vegetables with black truffle'. OK, so this green jello-like blob arrives in front of each of us and I'm thinking perhaps I'll pass on this course, until... More

After reading some of the other reviews here, I couldn't believe I had visited the same restaurant. First, the food: I had the house specialty called Bagna Caoda and my companion had a full course meal including the lamb as the main course. (We shared each other's meals.) The Bagna Caoda was one of the most interesting and delicious meals... More

We had a quiet glass of sparkling wine and a sharing platter at this lovely little enoteca (not the restaurant across the road). A great selection of local wines and deli produce, this is a wonderful spot for a quick break in your touring although be warned - you will be tempted to stay and enjoy the wine.

We were simply wandering the streets in Neive and came across this place that had a wonderful selection of local wines to taste. The waitress spoke enough English for us to understand and she gave us plenty of her time although they were very busy. The wine tasting comes with a reasonable size anti-pasta plate so this was great value.... More

We went here tonight and it was singularly the worst meal we have had in Italy. First the wine we wanted was not available so the owner PUSHED his wine label on us. Unfortunately no one spoke English .... The wine was horrendous not worth the 55€ that was charged. I ordered for an appetizer the pasta with 3 meat... More

This restaurant is in the old town on a hill above most of the new town. I suspect the views from up here in the summer are as great as the photo of the countryside, but as fall arrives with a 6:00PM sunset, one eats dinner in the dark. There was a rather beautiful building in the old town lit... More

As a matter of environmental principle, when traveling in first world countries we refuse to drink bottled water. This restaurant refused to serve us "dal rubinetto"--from the faucet. Shame on them! For all the environmental awareness in Europe, this is a huge blind spot. The food was average and the portions were modest. Service was leisurely.
