good local food...

This is a restaurant located on one of the main piazza's in the town. I had a very good meal here. The pasta with zucchini and panchetta was outstanding, as was the cheese with bacon which was put under the grill. You have the option of dining outside, which i highly urge you to do, as it's a... read more

Ordered rotated chicken, how could you go wrong? Besides foul tasting, it looks like chicken pieces were chosen for lack of meat and abundance of bones. Ordered mezzo litro house red wine, so bad didn't drink it. How is this possible in the country and area of vino where you can buy good wine in bulk at a local winery... More

The Restaurant is located on one of Tarquinia's main squares, in front of the Town Hall and adjacent to a beautiful fountain. The food is very good and reasonably priced, the staff very attentive and helpful. I can definitely recommend both the fish and meat options as we were in a group and ordered a variety of items. A good... More

We walked several streets to find a menu that intrigued us. All the others seems just so..so. This little gem in the center of town offered just what we were looking for. Just a notch above for a quiet lunch in front of the Pallazo Communale.

We had walked several kilometers to see the necropolis and were very hungry. The Ambaradam was in a lovely piazza with tables inside and out. The waiter was very helpful. I had a wonderful pasta with octopus, parsley and garlic. My friend had pasta with fungi porcini and loved it. They also made us a beautiful mixed salad with lots... More

Had a walk uphill about a 1kilometer to reach the restaurant. Sat outside, which may have been a mistake on our part. Food and service were average. Inside had more atmosphere

Located in the center of town in front of the "Pallazo Communale". You can eat on the "terraza" or in the cool cellar dinning room. The menu had choices between pastas, fish and meat dishes. The tuna is Excellent en affordable. The service was good but lacked the typical Italian hospitality. Maybe because we were foreigners unable to speak fluent... More

I came to Tarquinia, for Ferragosto 2014, with a friend. We ended up having lunch at Ambaradam by chance - it was 1pm, we were hungry, it was hot, the place looked busy. There was a tourist menu ... though people were ordering it left and right we did not, and we didn't let it put us off (though, it... More

The best restaurant in town, suberb courses and dynamic and inventive responses to suggestions and special wishes. The owner and his staff are genuinely interested in giving you their best. A home from home in the very heart of Tarquinia. 5 stars!

Guide books tend to steer people away from restaurants on main squares with tourist menus. Boy, in the case of Ambaradam, were they wrong! After spending the previous day searching through the back streets of Tarquinia in search of a restaurant (a frustrating task) , my husband and I strolled up the street from the National Museum, and decided to...
