Had not booked a table but they were able to seat us, really busy with families and large groups, did not expect it to be so busy as remote. Watched vultures flying overhead whilst sipping cold white wine. The menu was varied and a good selection of specials, rabbit, suckling pig. We had a starter that was recommended by the... More

Saturday nights experience at dinner on a family special occasion was the worst in Spain. The staff were pre-occupied - unorganised - under pressure - the food was BLAND, agricultural and poorly presented...... the ambiance resembled a motorway cafe with children, pushchairs & roadside view ! The whole experience was extremely disappointing, we wasted a babysitter & a precious night... More

We visited the Venta Garcia twice for lunch on our recent holiday. The food is simple Spanish cooking which tastes delicious and is served by the charming owners. We had the menu del dia at €13 on both visits which included a choice of salads or soups followed by mains such as confit of duck, cod, sea bass and lamb.... More

Very nice setting in the mountains above estepona. Starters were ok, but mains were not good. A bit strange. Service is ok, bit our waiter had a bad night.

Had lunch here with hubby & teenage son this week. Service was slick but not massively friendly although sometimes I do think this is a language barrier thing as once I started speaking Spanish (Spanglish!) the waitress softened a bit. The restaurant setting is lovely. We sat inside but the conservatory was also very nice. The piece de resistance was... More

We were welcomed at a gravel terrace bar, so couldn't resist cocktails whilst we choose from the menu. Choice was good with some interesting specials. When the food was ready we were offered a choice of tables and choose to sit the the airy conservatory. Service was perfect, attentive and friendly, but not in the least pretentious. Starters were excellent,... More

Have eaten there twice in the last week and want to share both the goods and the bad. On the first night I ate with my wife and I must say we raved about the food afterwards, we felt the welcome wasn't particularly warm and friendly like you get in most restaurants in Casares however the food more than made... Wouldnt bother going here at all. We were stuck in an annex to main restaurant even though our hotel booked for us and asked for a good table. Waiting staff generally unhelpful, starters were good main course poor. Only helpful guy seemed to be manager and just seemed to be too many guests and not enough staff!

On Sunday 29th June a group of us 18 people in all, went for Sunday Lunch at Venta Garcia at 2.30pm. after being seated out on the lovely terrace gardens we had pre lunch drinks and then duly shown to our two tables inside the restaurant. The temperature was in the 30's so we pleased to be eating inside. Although... More

We had happy memories from a previous visit so thought that we would try Venta Garcia again, the food was excellent and quite different to the standard fare elsewhere in the vicinity. Excellent salads to start, mine was bacon, avocado, mango and smoked salmon, which sounded like a strange mix but was delicious. Service was friendly and helpful, we went... More
