The restaurant really went out of their way to find space for us on the evening we dined here. The food was fabulous, the home baked bread an extra treat. The tamarind beetroot salad with labneh is not to be missed and the pork belly cooked to perfection! Special accommodation was made for a vegetarian request...imaginative and beautifully presented.

The food is spectacular, local and fresh so eating here was a treat. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Would go back anytime for a meal. It is a very small venue, so it can be a little cramped but once you are seated then the magic starts.

Probably the restaurant with the most beautiful location in Paternoster, the food was incredible as well. The perfect place for a romantic dinner. And fitting its name, even though the were basically fully booked, they found us a "Gaaitjie" (space/little place). I cannot fault the food and the service was really friendly. The menu changes on a daily basis, but... More

Boutique style restaurant with set menu (about four or five choices of starters, mains and desserts) Once again very accommodating of gluten-free requests and the hostess and staff deserve all the praise we can give. We will be back!

Took a car load of people to Paternoster for a special birthday celebration. First stop off was at Gaaitjie, a revisit for me but a first for the rest of our party. Difficult decisions, but we made our choices and everyone was blown away by the delicious fare. The homemade bread with tasty titbits of cherry tomato pickle and hand... More

Small casual beach Restuarant with a tiny menu which is only decided upon during the day. Food was outstanding and reasonably priced. Seafood was fresh from the morning's catch! There was interaction with the chef / owner. Service was excellent. Small local wine list but no need to bring your own.

Great Food and Great Hospitality - our second time at Gaaitjie. A lovely fire to keep the winter chill out and bottles of good red wine. What a wonderful little gem of the west coast.

Despite cold wintery weather and not being able to enjoy the special outdoor setting right next to the ocean, we loved our lunch indoors at Gaaitjie! Attentive friendly service, delicious meal with a difference and delicious welcome homebaked little loaf bread, and incredible curried green bean taster. This is traditional west coast food with a modern twist. Everything was delicious,... More
