We have eaten here with friends, with family and also for one of their candlelight dinners. We have zero complaints. We always feel like family and are welcomed warmly. I like the intimate feeling of the dining area and also the unique location of the restaurant tucked into the old wall/tower. Everything seems made to order so it can be... More

We lived in this area of Germany for 3 yrs and ate our way extensively throughout Europe. Torschanke is in our top 3 restaurants, ever. Service and food are always beyond expectation.

We didn't have a reservation, but the restaurant seated us upstairs on a Sunday after church. Reservations are recommended. The menu reflected seasonal flavors. The three adults in our party each got something different. No one was disappointed with the fall-inspired menu. The wait staff was very attentive. The portions were filling.

The restaurant is connected to a tower built in 1340. There is a small patio outside, and the inside is traditional German, and cozy. The food was great, and so was the service. I really enjoyed my dining experience there.

Make sure you make reservations--that is #1. The menu is in German, which we knew, but if you are American be prepared for that. The food is so tasty, unusual, and just overall some of the best food in this area. It is a must visit if in this region. We had the ravioli with lamb cutlet and it was... More

Don’t care if the food was good, aren’t we supposed to respect people anymore? I visited this place 3 times and every single time they were hesitant to give me a table outside (no reason why). The last time I visited, of course I asked if I could sit outside and they said no so I said thanks (very politely)... More

I highly recommend this restaurant. The family who runs it is very doting when you come. Not sure of the big man's name, but he likes to tease you if you don't clean your plate. Most people shouldn't have difficulties doing so, as the food is delicious. I really love the salad dressing they make there. English isn't widely spoken... More

We had a holiday dinner at Torshanke and it was wonderful! The food and service were both excellent and the upstairs room that we were in was lovely.
