We had dinner at the Vaima for NZD 102,- which I paid for with my credit card. When I received my credit card account I discovered, that the Vaima had withdrawn NZD 123,-. The Mastercard customer service told me, that some restaurants cheat this way: withdrawing a little bit more than the actual amount hoping that the customer doesn´t notice.... More

Had been recommended to try this restaurant by a friend and were not left disappointed. We hadn't made a reservation, and even though it was quite busy the staff were very accommodating and found us a table outside on the beach. My partner ordered the pork belly which he said was very enjoyable and I ordered the eye fillet. I... More

My family and I have been here probably half a dozen times over a couple of trips to raro and we have always been very impressed. The food has ways been an absolute treat especially the deserts!!! The setting is so relaxing, right on the beach, and the staff are incredibly helpful. The best place we have eaten at on... More

Went here for dinner last night on the strength of reading the reviews on here. Service was wonderful and really friendly. The food we had from starters right through we're top notch. I would recommend this place to all, we will definitely be going there again!!

Our annual 9-14 day family holidays to Fiji and Rarotonga are a great break away but the food, with the exception of the raw fish, has always been a disappointment. When the six of us sat down at the Vaima my daughter asked if she should get the pork belly. I said while I loved pork belly it needs to... More

Wow wow wow......what can I say about this place? From the moment we arrived we were well looked after our waitress was very friendly and attended to us very well. Told us the specials of the day and offered us drinks. I ordered a cocktail and hubby ordered a beer. I had looked at this place on line and was... More

Loved going to Vaima on our trip to Raro a few years ago and so made sure to go to their temporary venue a couple of times during our recent stay. What the current venue lacks in location, it is more than made up for by the food and the staff! Go!

Delicious food in a fabulous setting...... my husband and I sat out on the beach, watching the sunset, sipping a yummy NZ wine and feasting on pasta and lamb. We were picked up from the Lagoon Breeze Villas and driven home afterwards. A super cute kitty lives at the restaurant. Great value for the $$. Fabulous place!!

After learning about the fire we had reluctantly removed Vaima from the agenda of our recent trip to Rarotonga, Serendipity; we accidentally stumbled upon Vaima, newly risen and relocated from the razed site on the south of the island. We had a thoroughly decent meal accompanied by excellent service. Good luck with the rebuild Dorothy and Cameron, may it all... More
