Oh dear! Gave this place another chance last week and popped in for lunch with my Mum as it was her birthday. What a mistake. Again! Staff still grumpy and rather slow to clear dirty tables. Ordered a chicken caesar salad and was shocked at what eventually appeared! A pile of leaves with a splash of watery dressing and a... More

Don't do decaf, don't do skimmed milk, don't do white bread!!! What about people's dietary requirements???!!! Staff didn't seem bothered and used a 'shrug of the shoulders'- I left because they didn't offer any solutions and again informed me they used brown bread only.

Went in as the place looked busy and bustling. No tables inside for just a couple of minutes and then a member of staff said that some people had just paid so a table would soon be ready. We felt that the staff were somewhat neutral - neither friendly or otherwise. The sandwiches were well filled and the salad and... More

Lunchtime and not overly busy - the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the broccoli and Stilton soup was good. Coffee was spot on too! We has no issues with the service offered - it was friendly and attentive. Oh and yes the ginger and Guinness cake was very good.

We visited on a quite Sunday without having looked at Trip Advisor and couldn't believe how accurate the reviews to be. The food is excellent as is the environment only to be let down by the attitude of all the staff....they just don't seem to know the first thing about customer service and have a 'couldn't be bothered' attitude....what a... Four of us took lunch at the "Tea and Tipple" and found the standard of food excellent - a good tomato and chill soup as well excellent salads. The "platter" salad consists of salad, pate, chutney local cheeses (on this occasion Northumberland Nettle and Kielder) and ham with two slices of excellent wholemeal bread and can be highly recommended. Service... More

I was aghast when I heard and saw the young waitresses turn away customers at 420pm on a Saturday afternoon (when their supervisor/team leader/?manager) because they were presumably tired/wanting to finish early to get ready to go out. The proprietor should take action because it is very unprofessional and rude. However, once the supervisor guy came back from across the... More

We go here regularly for coffee and always enjoy the coffee, scones and cakes. However the latest waitresses are rather lacking in charm and are turning this establishment rather hostile. For example this morning we sat in a very quiet moment at our table and didn't get served. We left after 10 minutes. The waitress had ignored us totally and... More

I can't understand some of the comments on this page. I am a regular visitor to Corbridge and always stop off in one of the many eating establishments in this well served village. My favourites are Tea and Tipple and the Watling Coffee House, with T&T just shading it because of the ever smiling, helpful, efficient and pleasant staff! The... More

Visited here after a day exploring the surrounding area whilst on holiday We had all noted how friendly everyone had been throughout our week, however it was all to change here. It was obvious that the two girls working here did not want to be working, were unhappy and did not rate customer service highly on their priority list! On... More
