great food, staff sadly lacking

I've visited this cafe a few times, the food is always very good but the customer service is getting worse. It would be nice to be greeted with at least a smile, I sat and watched a waitress turn away each time the door opened so she didn't have to make eye contact and even walked away when a... read more

Ordered the soup of the day and coffee at the counter. Hardly sat down before the coffee arrived quickly followed by the soup. A lovely homemade minestrone. Lots of different veg in the soup and had me pondering why I don't make this at home. Like the feel of this cafe/restaurant, lots of different seating types and areas. I choose... More

This cafe is in a great location, across from the church, and has a nice vibe - less stuffy and claustrophobic than the traditional 'tea shops'. Being vegetarian I'd like to see a few more options - how about a crushed chickpea salad sandwich? However, what is on offer is good - blueberry and lemon cake was really good (but... More

Brilliant cafe, bustling with life and serving excellent food. The minestrone soup was homemade and extremely tasty and the Northumberland cheese and ham platter was accompanied by a delicious onion relish!

The food here is very good and the tea and coffee are excellent. I do think it is expensive even compared to other cafes in Corbridge.

Smashing little place to stop for refreshments while looking around the village. Good teas and coffees, plus good home produced scones, cakes etc.,

I've been visiting Tea and Tipple for years, with friends and with relatives. The cakes are wonderful and the interior is nice....but what lets the place down is the staff. You never get a smile. I have been visiting the café that is now called Masseys in Corbridge for the same length of time....and what a difference! The staff are... More
