Real fires, comfortable leather seats, traditional warm rooms, afternoon tea, great local food, local ales and exceptional Northumbrian charm. The Angel Inn has been a coaching inn dating back to 1752 when it was called The Kings Head. Many people have owned it until we purchased it in 2011 and we intend to keep it and we will ensure that your time with us is relaxing and fulfilling.

Best Liver & Onions EVER !

Spur of the moment decision today to pop in for lunch, We were soon seated and orders taken for drinks while we looked at the Menu. The Real Ale was Fantastic.........but onto the food, we had the Ham Hock Terrine and Squid to start, both of which were OK, Starters gone we had quiet a long wait... read more

Arrived at the Angel at about 13.30, after telling my friend how good the food was. We ordered prawn marie rose sandwiches and got a slice of brown bread, with lots of prawns but hardly any sauce. Obviously there had been a run on the sandwiches and only a tiny amount of sauce was available for ours. I have always... More

From the moment we walked throughout the door we knew we were going to have a good time. Although the restaurant was almost full, we were greeted by a smiling waiter and shown to our table. The menu was super and we shared a twice baked soufflé to start followed by hake with beurre blanc and roasted vegetables to follow.... More

Our B&B host recommended we drive the short distance to Corbridge to have dinner at The Angel Inn. Great advice and we are very glad we took it Our dinner was very nice, served promptly and perfectly. The wait staff were excellent. Vegetarian options. Highly recommend.

Working away from home and tried this place, I found the menu a little limited and very pricey for what is a pub meal. Ordered a Rump Steak with a sauce and a side salad, well to be fair the steak was cooked as I ordered but the sauce was in a little jug(not much) to be fair and when... More

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and loved the Sunday lunch. A bit of a hotel pub hybrid with a great lounge area which feels like you are in the heart of it all. Good people watching. Lovely vibe.

We attended early afternoon for lunch. We hadn t booked but we're told a table would be ready in half an hour. We were happy to sit in the lounge area and wait whilst we had a drink. We were kept informed of waiting times and all was good. We sat down the main bar area and it took a... More

Visited here a couple of times on a recent trip, once for food and once just for drinks. In terms of ales, there were 5 or 6 to choose from, one (the Jester) was very nice, another was acceptable, and the third was unpleasant, had a bit of a dirty sock odour to it, so I would recommend trying before... Went with some friends who live locally. Huge fish & chips and starter wasn't small either! Fish could've been seasoned before being battered. Reasonably priced and good service. Wine list could do with improving although the NZ Sauvignon blanc was very nice

Had the twice baked soufflé and the burger, excellent. Front of house staff Syd and Olivia are a credit to the Angel 10/10
