Real fires, comfortable leather seats, traditional warm rooms, afternoon tea, great local food, local ales and exceptional Northumbrian charm. The Angel Inn has been a coaching inn dating back to 1752 when it was called The Kings Head. Many people have owned it until we purchased it in 2011 and we intend to keep it and we will ensure that your time with us is relaxing and fulfilling.

Having heard very good reviews in the past about the Angel we decided to visit for Sunday lunch. For starters I had the black pudding and button mushroom and new potato salad. I could not taste the mushroom and the potatoes appeared to be burnt and tasted burnt. For my main i had the lamb the meat was tough and... More

In the centre of the lovely and historic town of Corbridge, The Angel dispenses good, wholesome pub food in an inn of character. Characterful it is, but this is a sympathetically modernised inn, with a light, airy bar, comfortable seating, and a very good selection of beers. The food is quite an imaginative take on the usual: the pork and... More

Been visiting the Angel for quite a number of years now on a weekly basis. The food is generally very good taste wise , as it was on our most recent visit. But the portions served appear to be getting smaller, £13 for a small fish and 7 chips is somewhat stingy.

Called in at lunchtime today and we both ordered Vegetable soup. When it arrived, it was actually a semi - clear liquid without any vegetables at all. In my book, this is vegetable stock. At £5.50 a bowl, I certainly feel ripped off. Never again!

Went to corbridge for run out. Stopped for a quick pint. Found the service from the staff was very friendly and polite. A good variety of beer. Didn't eat but the food looked lovely. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I had a voucher for golf at Matfen Hall so had planned to have tea there afterwards for a cheeky Monday night treat, once up there we decided to pop a couple of miles along the road into Corbridge instead and after trying a couple of restaurants (which were full) we went into The Angel of Corbridge.... The food was well cooked and presented but the portion sizes were on the mean side it has to be said. Perhaps they want you to bur starters and sides as well. What we had was very tasty.

Arrived at the Angel at about 13.30, after telling my friend how good the food was. We ordered prawn marie rose sandwiches and got a slice of brown bread, with lots of prawns but hardly any sauce. Obviously there had been a run on the sandwiches and only a tiny amount of sauce was available for ours. I have always... More
