'No nonesense' food in convivial surroundings

Appetising, wholesome food which leaves a satisfying taste in the mouth is what you can expect from this traditional village inn. It never disappoints.

We decided to meet my wife's sister and husband at Corbridge for the day and agreed to have lunch at the Angel. We have eaten there a number of times before. We arrived early and there were plenty of tables. We were served with drinks straight away and the service was very good. My wife had a little angels curry... More

we had a family meal here on a Tuesday night and the meal itself was disappointing it was late, cold and over cooked. But what was more disappointing was a sweaty man sat at the end of the bar who decided to open the door with no consideration for anybody else as it left a terrible draft so we shut... More

We found ourselves with a rare Sunday off together and decided to have a trip to corbridge. We were only going to have a drink there but the food coming out of the kitchen and the general atmosphere encouraged us to stay. The food was just what we wanted, a good Sunday lunch!

Arrived just after 5 and the pub was empty. We were the only diners. We rodered our drinks at the bar. The drinks are on the expensive side (large glass of Rioja £8.45, pint of Estrella £4.40). We found atable and checked the menu out. The menu doesnt have a massive amount of choice, we opted for Fish and Chips,... More

Went to the Angel today for lunch, We ordered drinks and looked at the menu, it didn't appeal to me so I chose a chicken curry off the little angels menu, my husband chose sausage and mash, both £6.99, for that price I would of expected a decent meal... how wrong I was , when the food came to the... A warm welcome always awaits customers from John and the staff at the Angel in Corbridge, the buildup has an imposing presence within the village. There is a well stocked bar, and a range of seating area's from the bar, comfortable seating in the lounge to the formal seating in the restaurant or the private room. Food is freshly prepared... Had a meal in the Angel on a busy Thursday evening. All of the tables in the bar were reserved but helpful staff accommodated us in a rather comfortable restaurant located through the lounge area. Food was hearty and delicious, excellent range of beers and wines and a really comfortable and welcoming place to spend a few hours. Not our... More

Having been impressed by staff and surroundings for a Tuesday evening drink booked for Thursday dinner-mistake! Staff very harrassed shown table and drinks order taken but despite two enquiries we left after 20 minutes drinkless. Would suggest more staff needed on a busy night.
