After visiting Chesters Roman Fort and walking a fair distance we decided to visit this pub for lunch as it had some really good reviews. Unfortunately it was shut for refurbishment which normally is a good thing except it had no signs up to say it was closed until you got to the door and a man painting on the... More

On this occasion we fancied a traditional English style meal as opposed to Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mexican etc and I rang and booked a table for 2 at short notice on a Sunday evening. We chose basic fayre of Beefburger and chips and chicken pie made with puff pastry, served with chips and veg. Now that's where basic ended! It... More

We were passing on a Sunday and thought we'd give the place a go, not knowing what to expect. Really glad we did. Hubby had half a chicken dinner and I had the roast beef. The portion size was generous and the food was delicious, the meat portions were very generous and my roast beef was beautifully cooked although we... More

We stopped here for lunch while walking the Hadrian's Wall path. The pub is bang on route. We were able to sit outside at the front, although the interior (which was very busy) was also very pleasant. Service was friendly and efficient. We all opted for deluxe sandwiches (prawn, salmon and crab with crème fraiche and salad for me) which... More

We chanced on this pub/restaurant whilst walking Hadrian's Wall. What a find!! I had the Portgate Pie ( chicken, bacon in a wine sauce) and hubby had the Seafood Platter. Both were absolutely delicious - couldn't fault them. We finished off with Eton Mess and sticky Toffee Pud. Again, both fab! A couple of large glasses of wine at a... More

Booked a table for 6 family members for Father's Day. Despite being very busy, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member and as we had arrived earlier than our reserved time, we had drinks at the bar whilst our table was being prepared. Very good selection of wines, beers and two real ales. Menu was comprehensive and several "specials"... More

As I live within 20 minutes of this establishment I have never ventured through the doors till today when myself and Dad drove passed and decided to give it a try. We were warmly welcomed by the young lady behind the bar. A good choice of quality lagers, and two locally brewed real ales. The menu had a good choice... More

We visited the Errington Arms on a Thursday evening so it was very quiet with only a couple of other couples in, we had a lovely meal which was reasonably priced. My only criticism of the pub are the toilets, they're in serious need of a refurb, they reminded me of a campsite toilet block.

On visting and having lunch recently we were disappointed. Quite cosy when the fire finally got lit, but the place is really for walkers passing by not somewhere for a special treat. We found there was too many menus and confusing menus all over the walls. Keep it simple. The quality of our Fish and Chips was poor. Hardly any... More
