We did 'the curry train' as a group of 6 friends. The overall experience was good and we all enjoyed our night. I don't think I would necessarily do the train package as a couple. We met at the station at 6pm (quite early for a night out) and met the men from the Valley. The train doesn't leave until... More

This restaurant is by the train station, where they run curry trains from Newcastle to corbridge, the food here is fantastic, each meal is individually prepared, it's well worth to stay locally to have wine or fine beers with your meal.

Having to wait in the small bar area for an hour before being taken to our table was disappointing. We then had to wait a further hour at the table before our food arrived. I feel that when booking a table for 8:00pm, to finally have your main meal delivered at 10:00pm far too long. The food, when it eventually... More

The Valley is a large old railway building fronting on the platform of the line from Carlisle to Newcastle. The food and service are exceptional, but the unique feature is that you can catch a train at either end, book your food on the train and go back later. You need to be in the right frame of mind perhaps...

Me and three friends were a tad dissapointed with the whole experience although we could not fault the food or service. We were met by three waiters dressed in traditional Indian dress with overcoats on top ( no headress which we thought would of made their outfits minus coats more authentic) then we had a 30 minute wait in a... Was really looking forward to going on the curry train but found the whole thing a bit underwhelming, we had to wait for half an hour at central station and then the train was really full and rowdy. The restaurant was so busy and full we could barely have a conversation and we were so squashed in with the other... More

Dined as part of a group of six. No major complaints however none of us were particularly blown away either. Quite pricey and even more expensive if you don't watch your bill. We had £30 of drinks mistakenly added to our bill which needed rectifying.

They really look after you here, they greet you like an old friend and are there to cater to your every whim. The food was fantastic and It felt like we were dining in a five star hotel. I 100% recommend this place.

Personally met at the station and looked after constantly! The staff couldn't do enough for us. The food was outstanding! The price was perfect. The venue itself was beautiful and it was perfect for our romantic night out. We just need an event to give us another excuse to go again!!!! 11+ out of 10!
