Dont believe for one minute this is aromantic or relaxing journey with beautiful scenery on the way this was a nightmare we were advised to meet at the station early something to do with the match crowds lol we got there promptly as advised where we had menu thrust at us and felt pressured to choose there and then. Recently booked onto the curry train with a group of friends after wanting to try this for some time.....I was not disappointed! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive from meeting us at the train station to the restaurant itself, offering recommendations on food choices and modifications where requested. The traditional Indian dress and music also gave the place a fantastic... More

My first time here but won't be the last. A group of us from work booked the "Passage To India Train Service" to The Valley as we wanted to do something a bit different, and had heard very good reports about it. We were not disapointed. From being met at Newcastle Central train station, escorted to our train, and being... More

Been coming here for 18 years but as we don't live local it's always a treat. From being greeted at the door by the wonderful front of house lady Fiona, who spent time explaining the extensive menu making sure we didn't order far too much food as can easily happen, to the wonderful decor and attention to detail at the... The owner sets a high standard, this is reflected in everything. Wines, food service all perfect. He is such a pleasant chap. I have dinned here for 20 years. Never once have I had reason to complain. This was the old station house. At Corbridge, right on the platform, explains why so many people arrive in groups, yet the restaurant... More

Unusual setting in the old station building. In addition to the normal road access, there is a special train service from Newcastle to the restaurant stop, and you can order your meal from the train. The restaurant is split into several smaller sections. The food is excellent, and service is also of a very high standard. This is not a... More

The food is excellent, the service could not be better and the welcome warm and friendly. We have been there a few times now and each time is the same, never disappointing and always to a high standard. When friend visit it's the first place we bring them.

Visited on Saturday night with my family. It was a perfect evening, from the start, a lovely, friendly & sociable lady served our drinks in old crystal glasses, which thankfully was carried upstairs for us. The service was 100% as was the food. The best Indian meal I have ever had. Thoroughly recommend this to everybody in the area, you... More

A friend recommended I try this place so I booked to take my BF for his birthday. Prior to going staff were very helpful with any questions or requests I had. It was a horrible dark, wet & windy night that we went so it was a bit miserable on the train but credit to the waiter, he kept talking... More

My husband and I have moved into the Tyne Valleya nd decided to drop in to The Valley on Friday night. Despite a busy service period, we were served excellent food in a very timely manner. The food itself was full of subtle flavours and very well presented. We look forward to our next visit.
