My family and I still love this place! We are an hour away - but we often treat ourselves to their takeout. The egg rolls are the best that we have ever eaten. We also love the Singapore Noodles. Spicy and delicious! We also order the chicken fried rice, mushroom egg foo young and lemon chicken. The chicken balls are... More
We went there on Buffet night with my wife and a buddy. It is not a big buffet like most big city ones but the food was very good and fresh as they kept filling the food bins as fast as the crowd was consuming it. As far as comparing it to American Chinese buffets it was a bit pricey... More
Paying 16.99 a plate I would expect their buffet dishes to always be filled. It seems to me they are afraid of being stuck with food so they leave them empty ..The food is good but the hard to get a portion as you are always waiting for them to add more to their empty buffet and they don'tt offer... We called in on a Sunday evening and had the buffet. It certainly was not as extensive as it might have been but the food on offer was very good and was added to on a regular basis. The service is excellent and the owner very friendly and personable. Would I expect the same food as found in a city... More
I stopped at this restaurant after driving from Toronto because I heard it was good. I had a very disappointing meal. I order the chicken soo guy with gravy and the vegetable chow mein. Both dishes were terrible. The chow mein was tasteless and made up 90 per cent of bean sprouts. The chicken soo guy was overcooked with one... More
The food quality has definately changed. Tasted like the oil was old. The crispy wontons were tasteless and greasy. The chicken balls were different. Not much batter and a cube of jelly like chicken in the center. One bite and the thin batter fell off. Noodles were good first round but second batch tasted a bit burnt. And some of... More
First, we rarely eat out around the area since we spend our time at Golden Lake to relax and enjoy the cottage. Unfortunately we were late opening the cottage and we weren't able to prepare anything for dinner. Plan B was suggested, make an order at the local Chinese Restaurant. We had eaten there in the past, about 7 or... More
I was very pleasantly surprised when I visited this restaurant one Sunday evening. It does not look much from the outside but inside it is warm and friendly. The buffet was fantastic and very reasonably priced. I am sure that I will be back many more times. They also do carry out food.
Every time I'm in Golden Lake or can make an excuse to pass through, I always eat here. Great takeout, great service. I never expected to find great Chinese food so far from the city. I wish they were in Kingston so I could eat it more often. Typically get, chicken fried rice, Cantonese chow mein, honey garlic chicken wings,... More
