Ignore 1 level reviews. I think management must have changed. I have taken many of my friends there. Never a failure. One time 3 different steaks ( rare, medium and well done) all perfect !! Staff great, friendly and efficient.

You know you're in a good old traditional british pub when you have to duck in places because the ceiling is so low. This place is full of character with a cosy friendly feel. I've eaten in here on many occasion and never been disappointed, From simple pub lunches to sunday roast, the food is good quality, well cooked with... More

Quirky little pub...duck if you are tall on entering the establishment. No juke boxes or fruit machines just cosy little corners and a warm fire. Excellent food served by very friendly staff

Another lunch, this time proper British food. I had sausage and mash - excellent. The beer was good as well. We were lucky to get a table as it looked like it was booked out. The staff were A1. This is what I would call a High Street hub pub as they have lots going on but it is a... More

Friendly staff to look after you. Had Sunday roast, vegetables were nicely cooked but I think the roast veg had been finished off in the fryer, I did not have a problem with this but my partner who is a AA Rosette awarded chef could taste elements of other deep fried food. The beef was over cooked for our personal... More

Adults, kids and dog all made very welcome. Great service. Good food. Ticked all the boxes for us for grabbing lunch. Party of 15.

Fantastic cosy pub. Great beer and wine and a lovely garden for the odd sunny days! Haven't eaten from the menu yet but from what I have read and have seen being served I hope to soon.

I recommend this if you're passing through. The pub itself has maybe seen better days but it's ok and the food is very good and good value. Friendly service too. A rough diamond.

An oldy worldy inn which we have visited many times including for christmas lunch. The food is always excellent and very reasonably priced with the special being two sirloin steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. The inn has flagstone floors, real ale and good food.
