I booked a table for a Friday evening. At the time of booking the staff member did not indicate that there may be a problem with the agreed timing. When we arrived, rather than being greeted and seated we were told that there was a wait of 40 minutes for food. I gained the impression that the staff would have... More

Thank you for taking the time to review, I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy your visit on this occasion, we do see a large increase in trade when we head into the summer season and we can experience delays in food service. We do hope to see you again in the future. Kind Regards HTurberville DGM More

Very good value for money. Wonderful service. One member of our party did not like the seasonal vegetables, she voiced her concerns and the price was taken off the bill - can't say fairer than that!

We were there today and had a perfect fish & chips and a good service at 2:30 pm. Aspel cider is on draft and also really good. After lunch it's only 3 minutes to walk to the beach, perfect!

Having had a great evening last December after the refurbishment, with waiter service, great food and a thoroughly pleasant evening, we decided to treat ourselves again on vising Beer over Easter. I had booked a table and due to only one person seeming to be able to check us in we had to wait at least 5 minutes at the... More

Thank you for your review, I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your visit on this occasion, but I'm afraid we do not do table service during the kids holidays. Thank you again HTurberville DGM More

We have recently moved to the area and decided to drive to Beer and go for a walk over the cliffs and then have some food at The Anchor Inn, great beer garden view for summer! I had a lovely glass of wine and really tasty fish finger sandwich. The only thing we would say is that the waitress was... More

Pub is in a lovely position, with a lovely garden - when open. We had to ask them more than once and then they begrudgingly opened it for us (we were a large group with children and a couple of dogs). I had a crab salad - £16 it came with a nice bit of crab and a small salad,... More

The food arrived promptly and was delicious! The waiter was either quite new or having difficulty understanding our Kentish accents but he was polite. The bar Man could learn from him. He needs some customer service training. When I returned a very badly cracked glass I didn't even get an apology let alone a thank you. The venue is in... More

Nice pub ! Good décor, comfortable, open fire and super friendly staff. There is a separate garden area that looks over the beach at Beer. Great spot for a bit of good quality pub grub. We did not stay here, so could not rate the hotel services

The makeover looks nice but we preferred the homely feel of how it used to be! Portions are smaller and seasoned chips?! Not quite sure what the seasoning was, seemed more like black bits from the cooking pan. Shame
