Distinctly average food . The location is idyllic, but standard of cuisine leaves much to be desired. At risk of sounding old fashioned I felt the standard of dress of the waitress to be inappropriate.

Liked the variety dishes, and daily specials always worth a try. Staff friendly and efficient. Comprehensive wine list was a pleasant surprise.

Had a great few nights in the Anchor Inn whilst we stayed in Beer. The staff are all lovely so welcoming especially Dan in the bar area who works his socks off and has the greatest sense of humour. Ate twice here crab starter was lovely also had a very unusual dish monkfish kebabs which were very tasty. Our second... More

I went for a colleague's leaving do and there were 8 of us. We were booked for 7pm but had a drink out in the beer garden first. When we went into the restaurant we were informed by the waitress that as we had not stuck to our slot there would be a considerable delay with our order. We were... More

I have been to Beer on several occasions but this is the first time that I have eaten here. We chose this venue because it has been recently refurbished and sits in a prime location at the end of the high street, most of the tables in the adjoining garden area overlooking the bay. That's where the positives end. Firstly,... More

The place was quiet, therefore, no problems with service or quality. But it was quiet. Not the fault of the proprietors of course, just how it was.

We stayed in Beer for the week and the first pub we came to was the Anchor which is very near the beach. The garden at the pub is just across the road with views of the sea. There was over 12 of us and we had a lovely meal in the garden and there was a band playing as... More
