The Anchor at Beer is a lovely place with a beer garden overlooking the beach. On the day we visited it was very busy, however, the staff seemed to be a bit surly due to this. The food was reasonable, however, one of the barmen tried to serve me the 'slops' from a glass under the hand pump for my... More

We ordered some food in the garden, a extra request came halfway from the end of the meal. My wife ordered some mackerel starter for £9 " it was so small we could not believe what we were seeing Beer is a fishing village "!!! Not great

We visited the Anchor for a lunch time family meal, the menu had lots of verity and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered Welsh Rarebit, fish fingers sandwich and children's fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed the meal, portions were really good and served quickly by Ana the assistant manager. Ana was very helpful in giving us advice on local... More

We visited here whilst holidaying near by and even though we didn't gave any food I felt I had to write this review just to highlight how wonderful the staff were. They were welcoming, very pleasant and very helpful. The lady on the bar was only too happy to share local knowledge places to visit and even when the kids... More

We stopped for lunch here while walking the coast path. It's in an enviable location and there's a good-sized open area overlooking the bay. On a warm and sunny Saturday in July, it was pretty busy and they certainly pack in the tables. You can order food in the outside area and there's a limited drinks selection. I went across... More

Popped in for supper having had a good walk on the coastal path. We were made welcome with our dog, and whilst the atmosphere was good the food was distinctly average. My wife's open seafood pastry was 80% pastry and 20% seafood, and my sirloin steak was just about OK -a little bit overcooked and not the most tender. We... More

Such a lovely location overlooking the bay. Have been there on two occasions. The first time my husband went on his own and after waiting to be seated as stipulated on their sign was treated so rudely,he left. I suggested a few weeks later we went back as it is a nice way to spend an evening. The service was... More
