Good food and good prices. Nice to eat local. If you are walking to the restaurant from the Marriott, you will cross a small stream of water.

This is SUCH A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH ... the fish literally comes off the boat into a pan onto your plate it doesn't get any better/fresher than that First night we flew in late and our driver took us here - we didn't really want to go but Daniel said he would stay open for us and we knew... More

The sea bass & shrimp cocktail are fabulous! The seating area is actually outside so if you go at night, bring bug spray. The ocean is music to your ears.

We had a great meal here. Much better than the food at Los Suenos where we were staying, and half the price. It's mostly seafood.

We were staying at the fabulous Villa Caleta hotel and felt the need to venture out and check out an independent restaurant. After consulting TA we chose El Pelicano. It reminded me of places in Greece with open air dining steps from the beach. It was a slow night and we met several Marriott Marquis road warriors with families in... More

We dined here with our family (2 adults and 2 kids -- 11 and 8) for dinner. We were greeted promptly and told we could pick any table. We chose one closest to the beach -- although the kids ended up moving to the swing seats and eating on their own (which the waiter said was just fine). The restaurant's... More

While on our way down to Costa Rica we were told about this place by a couple on the same flights as my wife and I. The Pelican was so close to the hotel we were staying at, we had to try it. What a great place! The ambiance was just what we were looking for, a casual, open air... More

Good option to change the hotel menu for something more authentic. Pretty good choice of meat and seafood. Kind service and prices lower than in the hotel. Walking distance, or short taxi ride. It`s possible also to walk along the beach, but difficult to cross the river, especially when it`s dark.

Fresh sea bass and mahi, with clams as a starter. We want to try and replicate the recipe and favors when we get home! Nice place to view a sunset too.

This is a nice Costa Rican restaurant right outside of Los Suenos. It is located right on the beach and has a local charm with open air seating, shale floor, beach views, and linen table cloths. The service is very attentive and friendly. The bar makes great local drinks (think sangria, mojito, mango martini) and has a decent wine list.... More
