Superb!

Wonderful experience, best meal we had on Easter Island. Offers value for money and attention to detail. Absolutely worth it! Increíble nuestra experiencia, probablemente el mejor restaurant en la Isla de Pascua. Muy bien el servicio y comida exquisita. ¡Vale la pena!

Having being in the hospitality industry for 40 yrs I was intrigued by web site for this Japanese restaurant and knew I just had to go there . The owner was most welcoming and given we had booked over 4 months in advance he seemed as pleased to see us as we were to be there. His English was perfect... More

I had to see for myself why Kotaro has been so highly rated, so I went for a walk there for an early dinner. I tried my first ever Ceviche there and it was quite nice and the rice dish I had was very hearty. I got to meet the famous chef who made me feel very welcoming at his... More

this is a wonderful restaurant with delicious food. We had a couple types of Japanese food I hadn"t tried before including Fish Curry (very different than Thai or Indian curry), and we had garlic beef. Meals came with vegetables, miso, rice and a delicious appetizer of raw mackeral in rice vinegar sauce. The chef is Chilean, but lived in Japan... More

Had the pleasure of eating in this fantastic Japanese restaurant recently.. Located opposite to the airport, its around a 10 minute walk from the main street but distance really is not an issue on a small island like Easter Island.. The building does not look like much from the outside, but step inside and you will be blown away by... More

This was on the best meals I have ever had. After feasting on fresh snapper and shrimp, we told the chef how delicious the ceviche was. Without asking or prompting, he brought us some more. After we paid the bill and thanked him for the wonderful meal, he thanked us for letting him cook for us and told us how... More

No one would ever expect that on Rapa Nui, one would find an exceptional restaurant but here it is. Kotaro is a wonderful example of Japanese food with a touch of Chinese. The chef is one of the most talented in sushi and other Japanese specialties. All the sushi entrees were impeccably fresh and beautifully presented. The chef takes care... More

What a surprise to find your sould food at the end of the world? And they serve excellent food! Freshly caught fish sliced and served raw. Variety depends on what's around the island at the time of your visit. When we went it was hamachi (yellowtail tuna). And how amazing it was... This is a real deal. The chef, Francisco,... More

Who would have thought you could get the most amazing Japanese food on Rapa Nui. Darling little restaurant, spectacular food, freshest ingredients, great prices, and superb hospitality. We almost missed this place, so glad we didn't!

After our first diner at Kotaro, we decided to cancel the diner reservation we had for our last night on the island and come back to Kotaro again! It's a very special experience, when you see how the chef prepares your dish and tells you everything about it! Both times we ordered according to chef's recommendation (beef in a garlic... More
