Visited last night on a rrecommendation. Good first impressions. However, service was poor. Not very friendly waitresses, hard to get their attention and very little interaction during meal. We had T-bone and fillet. Asked for medium, should of read reviews first as came out uncooked/blue in parts and heavily oversalted. Reasonably priced overall although a pint was 3.50. All this... We visit El Gallgo at least once each time we are in Spain. They specialised in meat and fish from Galicia and without exception you will not find better quality anywhere. If you want steak, there. Only one place to go.

the only thing to knock about the steaks is the that if you cannot eat rare steak then this is NOT the place for you. the garlic prawn starter was good , the sirloin was very good value and a fair size. the service is very poor , dont expect to be in and out quickly which suits me as... More

Best steak in town. cheaper than a lot of places around and more of it. Their selection of meat and fish can be viewed and it is always well cooked. Service is good too. Always busy and can be noisy but that is not a problem. Try it.

It's best to have an appetite when taking a seat at El Gallego. If the "Starter" looks a lot, just wait until the main course arrives. Steaks will cover the generous dinner plates, with a vast selection of locally grown vegetables. So popular with the locals that's it's best to reserve a table a few days before visiting,.

We return towel Gallego every 6 months to see is there has been a change. We had friends visiting and decided it would be a good choice as they are steak lovers. We had the fillete - solomillo cut in half! However, we asked for it to be well done knowing from previous experience that it never is. It came... More

Having not been to El Gallego for many years, in fact since it was extended, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were very attentive and the food absolutely delicious. we didn't order a starter as we looked at the other diners plates and they were large. We sat down and given s bread basket to nibble on whilst we decided... More

Like all restaurants, there are some people who will not like El Gallego, but the value for money is hard to beat. Many of the main dishes are too generous and are great to share. This is especially true with the meat, fish or seafood platters. They are for a minimum of two people but a two plate dish is... More

Great food in this restaurant, huge steaks. Very good value for money. Reservations a must here as it gets very busy. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Went back for another visit last week, they have made a change to the "FILETE Steak" it used to be medium thickness and done on the brasa grill but they now give you two thin slices that are obviously deep fried and taste awful and are tough. This "filete" is not to be confused with the "Fillet" (Solomio) or the... More
