Excellent food and very cosy inside the restaurant during the colder months. The staff are welcoming and very friendly. On our first visit we were shown a variety of fish caught that day and it was unsurpassed. During the warmer months you are actually able to sit outside on the beach - absolutely spellbinding to be so close to the... More

This place could not be more on the beach if it tried.. Ate a very nice dinner here - very pleasant staff and large portions of very nice food - particularly enjoyed the lamb cutlets. Home made desserts also hit the spot and the house wine was excellent. Relaxed atmosphere - recommended.

Been to La Gaviota a number of times. Despite its remote location it's always worthwhile a visit. Tranquilo and beautiful surroundings. The dishes are very Spanish, simple and good tasting. Friendly attentive staff. Hasta la vista.

Good home cooked food with excellent service and great value. Visited twice during our stay each time was a most enjoyable experience.

Not sure why one reviewer thought this was not on the beach - you must have gone to a different place! Highly recommend this restaurant. The Gambas pil-pil is fantastic. I have tried to recreate this back home with limited success. Also recommend the swordfish and the sole, along with a bottle of Verdajo. Not a fancy restaurant, just good.

I've been coming here since I was 9 years old, as my Grandparents moved to La Herradura over 30 years ago. The town has changed a lot, it has become very tourist oriented and is too built up now, but La Gaviota still offers the Spanish charm that made La Herradura so popular in the first place. The food is... More

Went to the restaurant from the beach based on its tripadvisor position. It is most certainly not worth the walk to the far end of the beach. There are far better places to eat in La Herradura. The food arrived at sporadic times & the waiting staff did not seem to care that they were needing to be reminded about... More

Typical beach restaurant; nothing special. Slow service; food arrived at different times. Food was ok. Reasonable value.

We went here on the back of a recommendation and the Trip Advisor reviews but were pretty disappointed. Nothing really to complain about, but nothing special. Food and service were both pretty ordinary. Great location on the beach but I wouldn't go back.
