Ate at Rossini's at the "Leatherne Bottel" in Goring on Thames on Friday night. This was always a slightly snooty, riverside, traditional English restaurant, that never quite hit the heights. Well now, under its new Italian management, it certainly hits those superlatives. My wife and are are well travelled and are lucky enough to have dined at many of the... More

Just returned from a beautiful, relaxed lunch. The service was attentive and friendly with good humour, the food freshly cooked, appetising and a real Italian experience. The cocktails and wine very reasonably priced and perfectly prepared. The menu, classically Italian was well executed and mouthwatering. We will certainly be back ASAP. The price was more than value for money. 10/10... More

Rossini has replaced the Leatherne Bottle. Great location on the Thames. However the food was very disappointing . The menu is far too extensive to produce freshly made dishes. Most served had either been frozen or came out of a packet. The service was poor. The bread was stale and £190 for 4 was expensive for a meal that I... More

A quiet night for the restaurant but we were absolutely delighted by the food (10/10) and the very friendly service. We will definitely be back, and look forward to becoming 'regulars'.

We visited just after it reopened after the extensive refurbishment. The setting by the Thames on a warm September evening was delightful and showed how the recent changes are making the most of the setting. There were a few glitches caused by the newness of the of the new venture but there was no doubts about the food. This was... More

A long time in the coming but John and Julia were always going to be a hard act to follow so ‘Mambo Italiano’ is a very different direction and one that is possibly going to work. After the opening junket, lots of locals went along to try with varying tales to tell, from absolutely the best thing since sliced bruschette,... More

A group of 4 of us visited Rossini last night and had a truly memorable meal, food was excellent as was the service, we sat by the river and enjoyed the view. The restaurant has had a make over which has freshened the place us, the food was amazing - we will be back.

I had the pleasure of dining @ Rossini at the Leatherbottel We were greeted by Tony & Maurizio who were both very attentive. Maurizio mixed me a very good hendrick's cocktail. On Tony's recommendation I ordered the fillet of Sea Bass cooked with anchovies, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, pistachio and lemon zest. cooked in "Crazy Water". It was simply divine. Tony... More

Tired gamberoni straight from the fridge. White wine spritzer served with tonic! Steak ordered rare and arrived medium to well done. Glacially slow service. Waiters untrained and behaving like frightened rabbits. Maitre 'd argumentative in response to complaints. Pretty disastrous experience. PI
