Got there late, still great!

After visiting Zaanse Schans we arrived to late for food service, but they made us some marvelous tomato soup and some fresh meatballs. This great cafe becomes a very nice pub for locals. Well run and worth a visit.

After visiting Zaanse Schans, we went to this place to have lunch. Nice surprise, very nice options and quite informal place. We had two sandwiches and the ingredients were good quality and combination were different. Highly recommendable.

I've read the other reviews and cannot understand the comments. When we stopped here the service was very poor as the wait staff was busy flirting with some young men who came in. Our food, once heated, sat on top of the display case long enough to cool. The ingredients may have been fresh first thing in the day, but... More

Near by Zaanse Schaanz is a little Restaurant with nice and friendly service. The homemade toppings (we had caprese with tomata, pesto and Mozzarela and one with goat cheese, vegetables and almonds) for the sandwiches are great, very good and tasty. The hot chocolate was delicious. Nice place for all little lunch or snack. The cakes looks really good, but... More

Visited this cafe/restaurant for lunch after visiting the nearby windmills museum Zaanse Schan. Three adults and two children really enjoyed platters of various savoury food, all made on the premises from freshly sourced organic ingredients. It all tasted delicious and was finished off in style by the best raspberry cheesecake and excellent coffee. The price was extremely reasonable and a... More

If you visit zaanse schanhse and you want to lunch there, it's worth the visit. They cook daily plates and you can choose a combination of them. It costs between 10 and 15 € without desserts. Nice variety and very well cooked!

De Groene Smaak is a great place for lunch after visiting the Dutch village of Zannse Schans. This restaurant is much less touristy and expensive than the places to eat in area. The cafe is cozy and quaint and full of locals. The staff are bilingual and will help you make sense of the great selections and what to try.... More

Yvonne, the owner took such care of us for our breakfast. The food was fresh and hot, made with care. We had omlettes, fresh bread, homemade jellies, fresh made OJ and coffee at a fair price. This is also a local grocery store so residents were shopping while we ate. The Groene Smaak is located a short walk from Zaansa... More
