Dont be fooled by the outside or the bar!

Small pub at street level belies the features upstairs. Comfortable rooms well decorated for a 'character' property.

Nice food, freshly prepared and the staff were really nice. We sat outside in the beer garden which was very pleasant but could of been nicer. A few pots and the wall painted and it would have been really nice.

Staying at Bembridge we chose the Pilot Boat for our first evening meal. It was reasonably busy, but we gave our choices and then waited over an hour for the meal to appear. Shame, because the food was good, but we didn't go back. Also although a nice setting, you can't see out through the windows and Bembridge is so... More

Apologies, an hour is far too long. You don't say which day of the week it was but I imagine it was a weekend when we tend to get incredibly busy and as we cook everything to order we do get a bit slow when lots of orders come in at once, but nevertheless an hour is too long. Please... More

Would give this 3.5, good, if that was an option. We were drawn in by the hilarious sign claiming they had good food and attractive staff. How could you not go in?!?! ;) We had lunch which was good but standard. Sandwiches and chips. They were great at pulling together something simple for our 3 year old and it was... More

We went to this pub restaurant last Thursday with a group of friends ,the atmosphere is very welcoming and the food all freshly prepared to order. There were ten of us in the party and we all really enjoyed our food, I had the crab and lobster fish cake which was delicious but huge and you definitely do not need... More

A locals pub but with a welcoming air. The food is delicious, cooked to order and the service is excellent. The bar staff are friendly and welcome you as if you've been before.

We called in here to have a drink after spending the day on the beach nearby, we walked in with our dog, not sure if dogs were allowed , and were welcomed by the really friendly people who worked there no problem . Don't be fooled by the outside, walk in and its such a quirky place , it's great... More

So many places in the Isle of Wight get it wrong - they trade on their location/view, or by being the only place on offer in that area, or they think they can charge holiday makers what they like because they'll pay it. We've been coming to the Island for many years now and have tried out so many places... More

Came here last night with two friends. The menu is small but everything on it is clearly well chosen and attention is given to the detail. I had the Angus burger which was so soft and fell apart. It was delicious with some great seasoning and onion pieces throughout. My friend is gluten free and she opted for the chicken... More
