Excellent food in a lovely setting

Visited for my partner's Birthday and we both absolutely loved it. The staff are so welcoming and courteous, the setting is wonderful (request seats that overlook the lake) and the food is great. Definitely book at least 7 days in advance as they do get very busy! This is definitely a restaurant... read more

Booked a table for 2. When we arrived the first thing we noticed is that the exterior of the building wasn't finished, there was painting to be finished on the exterior wall, fairly poor as it has just re-opened after refurbishment. Upon entering the car park there was absolutely no where to park, people had to park on the corners... More

We wanted a special meal with my wife's two sisters and their husbands and chose this Italian which is in the middle of nowhere. It was worth the taxi fare because we had an excellent meal in a very relaxing atmosphere. The lobster and baked camenbert were particularly nice The location by a lake would be particularly special on a... More

Went here for our anniversary. Absolutely the best decision. Gorgeous food, fabulous service. Blond girl at the front desk is the only exception as quite rude and hostile in demeanour. Don't let that put you off!! Aside from this it was perfect. Wonderful night and really helped to make our anniversary. Good sized portions and fairly priced. Bit more expensive... More

San Giovannis is set in a lovely area and the surroundings are scenic. The restaurant itself is nice but lacks atmosphere but perhaps this was due to our lunchtime visit. The menu is as you'd expect, albeit a little on the large side but has all classic Italian dishes. When the food arrived it was nice but I wasn't blown... More

Our whole evening went well, we had plenty of time to enjoy an aperitif, relax over choosing from the extensive menu and were not rushed during any part of the meal, if we weren't ready the staff just went away and came back again later. Staff were very pleasant and spent some time with us talking. We had 3 courses... More

We went for a family lunch and it did not let us down. As usual the service was slick and smooth, menu gave so many options it was difficult to choose. Quality first class. Would we go there again, yes.

Six of us went for our friends birthday. Like so many places it suffers from a real lack of authenic geniune atmosphere. We enjoyed the food but I really didnt enjoy the "experience". If im going out for food I want to enjoy my night, our surly waiter couldn't have looked more miserable. Think Italian Lurch. The menu is far... More
