We found this completely by accident and were lucky to get seats straight away, it is small so you may have to wait a short while but can look in the museum while you do. It was lovely and cosy and having been sea kayaking for the morning was the perfect spot for a rest. My husband and I both... More

The dining car is wonderful. Like having a tea in a Agatha Christie novel. Fully expected Poirot to step through the sliding doors.

Many touristy-type places like this are long on looks and short on taste or food, but this one has both. The views from the dining car are exceptional, and the food itself was filling, tasty, and piping hot. (Literally too hot to eat at first!) There is a wide range of teas and coffees and fresh cakes, and the service... More

this dining car is located at Glenfinnan station. It is actually a real railway carriage. The carriage must have been a first class one as it is decorated with plush seats. The menu is quite extensive. They serve sandwiches and home made soup. The soup is really nice and hearty. Staff is friendly but you do need to take some... More

We tried this unusual little restaurant before going on a loch Shiel cruise. We were looking for a place to have lunch and after our visit to the Glenfinnan railway museum (very compact, but cute and full of interesting information and memorabilia) we spotted the Dining Car, an old original train carriage complete with old suitcases and traditional fittings. We... More

Stopped for a late lunch on an exceptionally warm afternoon. The surroundings are beautiful (we sat outside on the terrace) and dining car is lovely. Food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would visit again and can thoroughly recommend.

The tea room is situated in a 1950s railway carriage. You sit on what look like the original seats and tables. With the cafe situated at the far end of the carriage. Good coffee and cakes make this an interesting stop with a difference.

My father's a train addict, so obviously we saw the viaduct before coming here for lunch. It was a warm day and we sat outside in the sun. We all had soup and toasties, which was all very well prepared and presented and very, very tasty - especially the home-made cole slaw that came with the toasties. The coffee could... More
