I graced the dining car with my presence several times between April and August this year. All I can say is wow, what a novelty, a wonderful little place to grab some lunch or even just a cup o' tea. The service was top notch and the view is Ok I guess (jokes its awesome). The food is all home... More

A really different place to have lunch as the dining room is a converted train carriage. Next door is another carriage that has been converted into a 10 bed bunk house. The food was nice and if you time it right you might be able to see the Jacobite steam train.

This is well worth a stop if you are travelling in the area. The service was OK and the sandwiches an soup were fantastic. The sandwich was of a very good size, extremely fresh and ingredients first class. Not a great range of cool drinks to go with the meal, but all up a very good casual lunch stop.

We walked up to the Glenfinnan viaduct in the driving rain and stopped at the Dining Car for lunch afterwards. The mushroom soup and black pudding toastie combo was absolutely delicious, the pot of tea excellent and the rich fruit cake fantastic. Such a great place to while away an hour, really kind and friendly service and great music in... More

The food was tasty albeit a wee bit overpriced. The service was great and the setting was a bit different. Worth a visit.

Good food in a fantastic environment. I would highly recommend visiting this Dining Car. Even without children it is an amusing experience.

We stopped by here by accident and indulged in tea and scones. They were out of this world. And as for the pot of tea, it was really good tea (silk tea bags, the proper stuff). Anyway, as it happened, we took the Glenfinnan Steam Train the following day, and made a beeline to go back for round two. The... More

After seeing the signs for the dining car and wanting to avoid the visitor centre we stopped here for lunch. Our 7 year old daughter was enthralled with the novelty of it all! Our Lentil and Ham soup was 'different' but was actually quite delicious (if a bit salty for our liking). Toasties were great. We didn't see Glenfinnan on... More

As my partner and I where staying in the sleeping car we thought it would be a great idea to also do lunch in the dining car during our stay. What can I say, it was fantastic, the place was very quiet when we arrived for lunch and the waitress was busy cleaning the sleeping car, it was spotless and... More

My husband and I stumbled upon this delight while driving across Scotland. I was just happy to find an open restaurant, but the friendly staff, the wonderful food and the view made it all that much better. Unfortunately we arrived about 10 minutes ahead of a steam train, so our tranquil meal was short-lived. We watched as people milled around... More
