We were looking for something nice to eat on our journey home. This place had been recommended to us. The inside of the carriage looked nice and had lots of space but we chose to sit outside. We were traveling in the summer with two dogs and sitting on the terrace outside our dogs were welcome. Also if I do... More

We called in here for a coffee whilst chasing The Jacobite steam train from Fort William to Glenfinnan to film it crossing the famous viaduct. The dining car was so comfortable and pleasant, the coffee so good and the menu so interesting, that we stayed for a sandwich lunch. Definitely well above the usual standard of railway catering. A bonus... More

Didin't expect much, although it has a wonderful nostalgic feel when you walk into the dining car. But when the food came, it looks wonderful, taste great and it feels relaxing too.

Travelled the short distance up to Glenfinnan with family for lunch. The diner is an old train carriage which our 3 year old son loved. We all opted for toasted sandwiches which were awesome and add £1 you get a large home made bowl of soup which of there was two choices . Prices were very reasonable and we were... More

We were impressed enough with the simple fact that we were eating our lunch in a carefully preserved railway carriage from the age of steam. Then, when the hearty, homemade soups and proper doorstep sandwiches came out, we were even happier. It really was a delicious and filling lunch, served by the cheery lad who runs the place. It was... More

Stopped for breakfast while driving from Mallaig through to Blackpool. This authentic vintage dining car has been perfectly restored to its original grandeur but has potable water and an awesome chef/menu. We enjoyed delicious toasties and they even had gluten free bread and scones!! Their coffee was superb and properly brewed versus the typical americanos we have been finding. The... More

This restaurant is located in a retired railroad dining car, with the original fixtures mostly intact and the addition of heating and running water. The food is basic but very good -- we had homemade soup and sandwiches, the soup costing just one pound more if ordered with a sandwich. Fresh bread and good relishes, and free tickets to the...
