We were passing and this pub was reccomended to us. On entering the decor was old and tired and the atmosphere was not very good. We all picked our main meals and were very excited to taste them. Well they sounded better in the menu than the real thing. I had fish and it was well over cooked its not... More

We booked a table for a Saturday night for two as was told by our B&B owner it was good. Service was OK with staff friendly and helpful but the food was a let down. Menu was very boring and dated so we went for blackboard specials. We both had scallops for starter £7.00 which was OK but very small... More

from outside you don't expect much -ajoining a garage and a few tired bench tables outside! inside it's a pub -the bar billiards/ dart board type so again not much to expect. But when the food arrives-wow! Lovely choice and our group all had something different with the King Scallops getting a "best ever" from one of our international eaters! So... More

Food was overpriced for somewhere that felt more like a transport cafe. Staff were friendly although more interested in serving drinks at the public bar. Liver and bacon was great but small portion even though I ordered a large, one of the family had pie...why was it so awful.? One of the family had treacle tart which was verging on... More

Hubby's birthday carvery here today was perfect, never had such a tasty meal, the veg, the meat, cannot find anything to fault. The cauliflower cheese would make a lovely meal on its own. Staff kind and helpful.

3 mile cycle ride from caravan site, stopped for pub sandwich with friends, very good value for £5.75 each and 2 pints / 2 halves £10. Will return. Check out website for full details

Bar lunch with the rellies before heading home. Wasn't very busy but service was slow and you had to get your own drinks from the bar. Huge range of food and specials; can recommend the liver and bacon and fruit crumble. Good platefuls and value.

Disappointed with what looked like a super traditional country pub. The food however was tasty and choice good.

21 of us Celebrated my wifes 70th birthday here 15/03/14 the staff were very friendly and most helpful we used their small room at rear of the main restaurant so we did not interfere with rest of diners which was ideal. All meals were served within 15 minutes of ordering and were nice and hot when delivered .Not the first... More

We live in Cullompton and regularly go to the Halfway for roast dinner on a Sunday. It's the best roast around. Gorgeous gravy.
