Three-star splendor.

I ate at Le Calandre the day after they opened from their winter recess. Located just west of Padua, this was my 52nd Michelin starred restaurant and one that I greeted with great anticipation. A friend of mine with far more dining experience (and an even more impressive palate) than myself rated this his best meal in all of 2013.... More

We were there a few months ago and the reputation of this place was so good that Anna and I tried it. Frankly, not bad, but not exceptional at all: and keeping in mind its formidable cost, this in not acceptable. The food was good, but so it had to be; the restaurant itself is not memorable from the architectural... More

My wife suprised me for my 50th Birthday with a lunch reservation , oh what a pleasant suprise , 3 star michelin , this was only the beginning , menu choices were made from the 3 menu`s on offer and we could choose what caught our eye . The service was excellent , regional wines price worthy for such a... More

I was here with few colleague in a table of 14 members. Food was really good, taste, presentation, technique and innovative. The two brothers where on the spot and all was smooth . Massimiliano Alajmo is the Mozart of the chefs.... He was 3 michelin stars at 27 years old.... Deserved!

This is one of the most idiosyncratic restaurants in Italy. Great food mostly, with only a couple of less impressive dishes (suckling pig). The wine list is very fair given that this is a 3* restaurant, and the service attentive, and warm.

We had a meal at Le Calandre as part of our trip to Venice, OK, the town of Rubano doesn't have the romance of Venice, but once you're in Le Calandre it means nothing. The food is good, very good. We were honored to be visited at our table by Massimilliano Alajmo. We weren't impressed by the signature dish of... More

A restaurant with 3* Michelin. nice degustation menu, around 130 euro, but when I go inside the restaurant I see the Wine celar, and the largest wine list I ever saw. Verry nice

The unromantic surroundings have been often commented upon, but on the other hand it is easy to find if you drive on your own, and easy to park. We were not sure we would make it, so we made no reservation. We got a table (indeed, three were to chose from - on a Thursday late evening). From the greeting... More

My third time here has been (once again) a wonderful experience. Service is very professional without being overburdening. Food exceptional. We went out for the big menu with wine pairing - very good. personally I would like to see a bit more reds with the wine pairing, but this seems to be a general topic of discussions. nonetheless, I was... Arriving at Le Calandre is like landing in a heaven of tasteful tables lost in the midst of in the tasteless suburbs of Padova, trucker stops, warehouses, suburban bars and low end discos. Nothing pointing to the imminent disaster. Nothing other than my own prejudices. “You shouldn’t waste your money in 3 stars in Italy, Italian food is only good... More
