Description: Il Calandrino is a casual version of Le Calandre, the Alajmo brothers three Michelin star restaurant. It is located directly in front of Le Calandre and serves excellent modern Italian food. Great wine and cocktails as well. And in the back corner of Il Calandrino, there is a small pastry shop selling delicious cakes, cookies and small pastries.

I was in a wine tour in Italy, and I stop at Le calandrino to meet Andreea, and I eat a nice prosciutto, and a good beef tartare. Good espresso..................

This place is absolutely amazing and the breakfast I had here is one that I will never forget! Living in the New York City area, I am spoiled with some of the world's best coffee and food on a daily basis. However, none of these places can even come close to the cappuccino and croissant that I enjoyed at Il... More

A great italian restaurant, this is a kind of a Bistro from the 3 michelin star restaurant Le Calandre that is in the same place. The actual address of the restaurant is in Rubano, just next to Padova, but if you are staying in Padova, don't worry it is worth the visit, it is by far the best restaurant that... More

I went to this restaurant after 8 months. So I can confirm my five points judgment. This time the business lunch solution was based on fish: whole meal pasta with fish ragout; small fish hamburgers dressed with a light fennel cream; fresh salad with small pieces of anchovy and, at the end, a piece of diplomatic cake. Quality and service... More

The restaurant is a modern successful reinterpretations of an old Venetian tavern due to location, settings and menu. The restaurant is located on the way that connect Padua to the hinterland, so it's suitable to stop and have a break. For this reason you still find the "cicchetti" : a degustation of different kind of local recipes to be tasted... More

We had a fleeting visit to the restaurant as we were delayed on our flight in from London and had to phone ahead for them to keep the reservation open. They were really accommodating and although we were very much against the clock as they should have been closed, they still managed to produce 3 courses of amazing quality including... More

Elegant decor and relatively decent food. So what's the problem? Well, there are quite a few problems. I was in a group of 10 discerning eaters who felt that we had paid much too much (about 135 euros each) in comparison with the overall quality. We decided to have an aperitif (Prosecco), as suggested by the waiter, and were surprised... More

We have been there 'cos we knew that Calandrino belongs to Alajmo's family, and the main next door restaurant was unfortunatly closed that day! As good americans, what can we go for? Big Max, of course! We found it very funny, that a chef like Massimiliano can decide to make a dish like that! This is a very good and... More

This restaurant belongs to the Alajmo clan, which also manages the "La Montecchia" Restaurant (one Michelin star) and the "Calandre" restaurant (three Michelin stars). La Montecchia is an absolutely outstanding restaurant with incredible food, a wine list that literally bowls you over and service that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world. A totally incredible experience and well... More
