An unassuming looking place in a small town. Very friendly, hospitable, devoted atmosphere and service and indeed the best dishes that Cretan cousin can offer. (Not the most sophisticated perhaps but always honest, tasty, fresh, made of excellent raw materials.) Their choice of fish is limited, linked to the daily catch in the nearby port. What is offered though is... More

We went here for lunch today, based on TA reviews; and we were not disappointed. The place was very nice; inside and out. We would have liked a sea view, but the outside covered patio was warm and inviting. .(and it was raining/dripping) We were greeted by a very friendly waiter. We were overwhelmed by the menu; so much to... More

Clean premises. Small-ish portions. Nothing extraordinary. Service not so great when we were there, even though we were with friends who claimed to know the owners well. Many items listed not available. Not the greatest of locations...staring at the traffic. If you're hungry and just want something to eat, then this is your place. If you want a real experience...just... More

The service was fine with good English. For some reason the brought the salad ten minutes before the other dish arrived (but since the salad was cold anyway it was not problematic to wait). Since we were here early May the place was quite empty, the food and bread was nice anyway. We received a huge bottle of liquor in... More

I visited this restaurant frequently while staying at the Aphrodite Beach Hotel just around the corner. I tried the boureki, moussaka, and stuffed grape leaves and all were superb. The honey-soaked walnut cake and raki were a nice way to the end the meal. Thanks a bunch! It will be a pleasure to visit this restaurant when I return to... More

We went twice to this Taverna during five days in Kissamos. Very friendly and helpful owner and lovely food. Simplest is best - the grilled bread with sea salt and oregano was delightful - as was everything we tried. This was one of the tavernas which produced a dessert 'on the house' - and of course the raki!

Food in Crete is amazing but this family owned restaurant in Kissamos is a must go. This place is simple and the staff really nice. There is a dessert, whose name I can't remember, made of a piece of cake with nuts moisted in syrup and an ice cream ball that is really good.

We were in Kissamos for a week during our Honeymoon and we have had dinner only here because we felt in love with that place both for its cuisine and service. We decided to try only traditional Greek food and the owner always suggested the best. The service is perfect. They meet you with a large smile :) and handshake,... More
