Good food, Great time

We had heard that Philos had good ribs and pizza with live entertainment, so we took a trip to La Cruz. Ribs, baked potato's and Philo's moms baked bean recipe were great. But the best thing was the band that Philio has put togeather. We sat and listened and danced to 2 sets. And I can not miss... read more

Philo's cater to the gringo boat crowd from the Marina and they do it quite well. Many the people from the Marina are reluctant to venture very far from the main street and don't know that you don't need to pay top American hotel type pricing for good food and drink in La Cruz.. La Cruz is lucky to have... More

Eat drink and be merry is something that is easily done here. Live music by Philo and his band will have you on the floor and dancing. Laura will cook up your breakfast, lunch or dinner. Don't miss rib night! Or for us vegetarians, Philos special pizza is the best!, they will even deliver if you can't get over to... More

Live blues and rock music with dancing. Outside tables were in a covered area in the front by the band. Good drinks.

Nice ambience and reasonably priced food. For me personally a little on the American side of things (as in I came to Mexico to experience Mexico) and this bar is heavily leaning towards ex.pat customers... but even so. Nice place to visit if you are in Le Cruz

A group of us had dinner and drinks at this funky place and really enjoyed the evening and especially the band. Food was great and a good price but mixed drinks and water were pricey. Beer was reasonable. However with entertainment like we enjoyed I guess you have to pay the price. Also we got to enjoy 'the man of... More

Philo's is a sailors paradise: very good drinks and tasty food. The service was excellent. It's a great place to stop in for a cold beverage when in La Cruz.

We just happened to be there for Leon's 85th Birthday and what a party! Leon led the band while everyone danced--what fun!

The food's fine, the music is great, the people are friendly; what more do you need? Dogs and children wander in and out of the restaurant; don't feed either- it's mostly sailors, the expensive kind but Americans and Mexicans relax together and they even allow Canadians. But seriously, you will meet people from everywhere and lots of top notch musicians... More

I only had to order drinks since I was sharing with many others the dishes we brought for Christmas day dinner. Philo and his wife were exceptional hosts, as were his extended family - Philo's staff are like part of his family. Just wanted to say thank you again for letting me share in this joyous event with you all.... More
