2nd choice still pretty good

Visited Glenorchy on ANZAC Day. Our first choice Cafe was closed for the day and everyone seemed to be at the Glenorchy Lodge so we joined them. We had lunch in this beautiful little town and were pleasantly surprised. I had blue eyed cod, salad and chips and it was really tasty for just under $20. The cakes and slices looked wonderful. The restaurant has beautiful views and you can sit inside or outside. The staff were attentive and friendly. If you're staying in Queenstown it's well... More

We walked in to the Glenorchy Lodge Cafe after done the rounds of the other few cafés in the Main Street, The food here actually looked wholesome and very appealing to the eye, so glad we waited and came here. The savoury scone was as good as I make myself, very tasty with bacon, herbs, spices, capsicum, cheese and more.... More

We walked straight in and got served so it would appear timing is very important. Lovely selection of cakes and pies to have with your coffee. Big portions too. Sandwiches looked good, but we had packed a picnic so didn't get to sample them, regrettably. Easy parking.

As the tour busses pull up & people spill into a 4 horse town it can be a daunting experience to get a feed. We were not in a hurry & wandered in & out of the few quaint little shops of the Glenorchy main street. Saw the lodge up on corner & wandered in just to have a look.... More

It was a really busy time, as everyone had just come back from the jets as well as anyone stopping by for lunch. Their system of taking orders was not at all streamlined or efficient. It could easily be improved and it would make this place a great place. Really good pie though when I eventually was served.

this is just one of the most stunning and remote places we have ever stopped for a cup of coffee. Very nice spot to stop and fill up with lovely cakes, but the scenery is just stunning. I really hope we get the opportunity to go back one day and spend some more time there

A potentially fun bar for post-hike relaxation. Barman / proprietor with amusing attitude. But come on. NZ has many good IPAs and other craft beers of character. Stock a couple, already, and recommend them when asked!

nice small bar cum cafe / bistro. Very traditional set-up. Admirable breakfast menu (served till 12) with multiple egg options. Lunch had a few cooked options including lamb and rabbit. Apart from this there was a plethora of cakes and dessert options available as well as pies and frittatas. There is also a soup of the day. Icecream and soft... More
