coffee stop

this is just one of the most stunning and remote places we have ever stopped for a cup of coffee. Very nice spot to stop and fill up with lovely cakes, but the scenery is just stunning. I really hope we get the opportunity to go back one day and spend some more time there

A potentially fun bar for post-hike relaxation. Barman / proprietor with amusing attitude. But come on. NZ has many good IPAs and other craft beers of character. Stock a couple, already, and recommend them when asked!

nice small bar cum cafe / bistro. Very traditional set-up. Admirable breakfast menu (served till 12) with multiple egg options. Lunch had a few cooked options including lamb and rabbit. Apart from this there was a plethora of cakes and dessert options available as well as pies and frittatas. There is also a soup of the day. Icecream and soft... More

Try the Caramel Anzac Square or the huge Peanut/Choc Chewy biscuits. Good coffee and great staff. Lovely to sit outside & take in the views. Nice touch to have the old red truck there for photo taking opportunities

Two recent experiences at the lodge have left me with a great feeling. The first was one of the best seafood chowders for lunch I have ever had and again last night when we joined friends for a family meal in the restaurant cafe. The service was warm and friendly with caring and knowledgeable wait staff, the menu was rustic... More

We were served by a helpful and cheerful Dutch girl. We had excellent hot pies for lunch but that was spoiled by the cold-hot chocolate-drinks that accompanied the pies. Why can't staff learn how to make hot - hot chocolate. A start would be making sure the glasses are hot to begin with.

We drove to Glenorchy early from Queenstown and not much was open. Fortunately the lodge was open and in full swing. I had the full breakfast and my wife had a partial. They were fresh, hot and quick. The coffee was good too. My wife and the owner had a good chat about the locality and the whole place had... More
