We maintain a list of restaurants where we visit every year when we are in Niseko. As our time is limited, names and added and deleted. However, one name that is constant is Ezo Seafood. As many has alluded before, a great meal starts with great ingredients, especially something that involves no cooking (sashimi, shuck oysters, etc). I think the... More

Ezo Seafoods is a definite for us each winter in Hirafu, but we know how popular it is so we booked online beforehand. Ezo Seafoods just gets better and better. We have eaten here each year since it opened. We dined here twice this winter – once as a couple and in a group of 8. Both times Ezo seafoods... More

Finally I got to try the very famous Ezo seafood. It was more down to earth than I expected! James the owner is friendly and hands on in the restaurant. Their key to success is FRESHNESS! We loved the crab legs, oysters and salad. This went down very well with a medium dry sake! For mains we shared the fried... More

This place is a real treat, a restaurant we reserve well in advance before traveling to Niseko (you must). We were indecisive and the Australian owner was great at suggesting enough food for our 10-person group without blowing our budget. We started with fresh crab, large delicious oysters, and a marvelous sashimi plate... definitely order the fish roe! The fresh... More

Very fresh seafood selection. Friendly service. It's super full and better make a reservation in advance. Like us, we called the same day and only 530pm slot is available. When we arrived, there is a sign at the door said "it's full and no walk-in" (you can see the pic). It's a small cozy please so if you have a... More

Heard the hype for a couple years, and finally went there for the first time last week. All the praise is well-deserved. Nice open plan atmosphere, friendly bilingual waitstaff, and James himself gave a great overview of all the menu options when we arrived. As a native New Englander, I loved their take on clam chowder. The Hokkaido Clam Chowder... More

Our best meal in Niseko! We agreed with the owner a budget of 8000 yen (about 80 usd) per person, and were not disappointed at all! We had really fresh oysters, really big king crab, abalone (cooked in hoisin sauce, i say cooked better than any Chinese restaurants I have ever tried), sea snails in herb butter, tuna sashimi, braised... Had a great night with friends at Ezos the owner James was very friendly and explained all the seafood to us. The crab was excellent as all the seafood was. Make sure you book quite away a head of time as the book out early over the ski season.

It is quite simple food but i can understand why it is getting rave reviews. The only average dish was the sushi platter: but the rest eg black ink risotto, tempura oyster and the cod were sublime. Book early. It is always full. Our major disappointment is that we could not come again as it was booked out

The seafood is fantastic. The Hokkaido uni sashimi and the cod stood out the most. The uni was silky and buttery. The cod was nicely cooked with some veg, garlic, and butter.
