Kabuki is fun for the novelty effect, I cooked a traditional Japanese omelette which was nice. The teppenyaki was also nice. You are given the ingredients and instructions and you cook it all yourself. We did feel that there were many other options for dining that were better tasting and better value.

Best part about Kabuki 1 is that you cook your own food, so we thoroughly enjoyed the whole menu. Not too expensive, decent wines.

We had two meals here. Such a great experience - we knew from the start we were cooking it all ourselves so we were not surprised. Very generous serves and very affordable! Tons of fun and delish meals. The drink service was great also. I like the authentic feeling when sitting on the floor also

After a hard days skiing went to Kabuki 1 for dinner. Good wine list. The staff assisted us in choosing our dishes. We then cooked our chicken, salmon, squid and vegetables on our personal hot plate. The restaurant is a fun place to relax and have dinner after a day's skiing.

Fabulous, fresh, delicious, nice service and good fun. Just small portions (as in many places in Niseko), so we ended up ordering 3 meals between the two of us. It still wasn't too bad price-wise. Kabuki 1 is cheaper than Kabuki 2 because you cook it yourself at the table. It's good fun.

Food was average but the service was really lacking. I was really surprised that there was little Japanese service on the 2nd floor where we ate tonight. The service was rather poor - except (oddly) for the woman I spoke Japanese with. Most of the other wait staff were not very attentive nor responsive. Because you cook everything yourself, it... Dear TokyoSalaryMan, thank you for your visit to Kabuki 1. I am sorry the level of customer service was not up to your expectations. We try to provide a high level of customer service by providing on-going staff training but I admit that at the busiest times it can be difficult. Cooking your own food is not for everybody but... Nice to cook your own and have fresh veggies up the mountain. Would recommend for vegetarians. Great for families and couples.

Dear idragonfleye, thank you for visiting Kabuki 1 and I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner. We provide a good selection for vegetarians with Okonomiyaki, Yakisoba and Teppanyaki all being suitable. Furthermore, our vegetables are sourced locally in Hokkaido with some being from Niseko itself! Kabuki is a great place for families as children love the unique cooking experience with Japanese... Because our party was large and we were late in booking, Kabuki 1 was the only option available for one of the evenings in Niseko. We would have had a much more enjoyable evening if we had stayed in and ordered pizza. Honestly, this place is terrible. We were treated like cattle. When our orders were delivered to the table,... Dear WorldTraveler888_888, I do apologise for the poor customer service you received on your visit to Kabuki 1. You visited at a very busy time of year when we hoped to have completed our expansion - we now have an additional 15 tables upstairs in a brand new room with a funky design. This has alleviated any problems with over-crowding... More

We had 2 okonomiyakis - prawn and pork. 1 is not enough for 2 people. There is instruction for "How to cook". Place is rather warm and with the hot plate in front to you where you cook your own (which is fun), don't wear too many layers. The teppanyaki is also fun. There's also the yaksoba (fried noodles). Come... More

Dear Tweetcoz, thank you for taking time to write a review. I'm glad you enjoyed the fun experience of cooking authentic Japanese food on your own teppan. We have recently expanded Kabuki 1 to alleviate the problems you cited. We now have 16 extra tables on the super cool, brand new 1st floor to provide customers with more space. And... More
