I had this on my list of places to try, but it's a little off the beaten track. One day we decided to go to Handa Island which would make this a very convenient restaurant as it is at the top of the slipway. The weather was pretty poor and we abandoned going across to the island, but waiting for... More

We ate at the Shorehouse twice during our short break in the area. Service was prompt and friendly;lunchtime sandwiches freshly made with generous salad accompaniment. We returned on another day for the Lobster special, featuring local lobster. Again, service was excellent. The Shorehouse is a simple place, with rustic decor. It is right on the shore, with superb views around... More

We had an early supper (they don't stay open late) of a starter each then a seafood platter to share. The food is prepared simply, but perfectly so that the utter freshness of it is highlighted. Best meal of our trip, never tasted crab like it

Myself and my partner visited for a bit of lunch while waiting for the boat to take us across to Handa Island. The place is clean looking and the staff are very friendly. It was only a light lunch we had, myself having the smoked salmon and my partner choosing the warm mackrel. These were priced between £6-8 and were... More

And everyone clearly knows what they are doing. A nice unpretentious place, which feels as if it would be just a good for a substantial seafood lunch as it was for us for just a coffee and a home-made cake. Super views of the pier, and the Handa Island bird colony that provides this very remote restaurant with the vast... More

We came across this family run restaurant by chance. It is in a beautiful location & their own caught & cooked seafood was truly excellent. Simple seafood not ruined by "cheffy" extravagance. Can thoroughly recommend to any traveller wanting to experience excellent fresh local Scottish seafood served by a friendly family.

Fantastic lunch after a visit to Handa Island. Really lovely to find such a lovely eaterie in a relatively remote location. The dressed crab was fabulous and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definately visit again if in the area.

Climbed off boat from Handa Island and saw this tiny little restaurent beside the tiny quay, sat in the sunshine on their veranda and had delicious fresh smoked salmon with lovely thick slices of buttered bread. We watched the tide come in and visitors tripping on and off the boats to Handa. A wonderful place to sit and watch the... More

We booked in advance - fortunately as the restaurant was a quite crowded with returning visitors from Handa Island wildlife reserve. Even so, there was only one lobster left for our party of 4. Naturally it was as fresh as could be having been caught that day by the owner but, in need of other sustenance, we took the opportunity... More
