We took some friends here for Sunday lunch based on the reviews but we were a little disappointed. Food was okay but the beef was sinewy and not very tender. We had starters, mains and desserts but nothing really wowed us. Service was variable.

extremely pleasant meal in a nice pub/restaurant with first class service. There was a good menu with lots of dishes of the day. All of our party of four enjoyed all their food: I had venison, which in my experience can be hard to get right, but it was excellent.

The food was exception on all aspects, well presented and great to eat, portions were just right. They have alsorts of offers and theme... More

Four of us enjoyed a meal here - the menu is varied with a good range of specials. I love mushrooms but was not keen on chorizo and they changed the menu for me by replacing the chorizo with blue cheese - it was a delicious starter. There are lots of fish options and three of us enjoyed a fish... More

Lovely cosy atmosphere, very attentive staff, superb food (with regularly changing "specials"). The front of house staff and the chef make a point of asking you if everything is cooked correctly for you. Excellent wine list that isn't ridiculously expensive. Try to leave room for pudding! They do mid week themed nights too.

We really love this restaurant - the food is to die for, and I would recommend to anyone who enjoys creative and interesting food. A special place. Unfortunately not able to get there too often but when the opportunity arises we take it. My very, very favourite place to eat.

We were attending a festival at Stanford Hall and via tripadvisor discovered this restaurant. My friend has a gluten allergy which the restaurant accommodated without any drama. Starters and main fish dishes were perfectly cooked and lovingly presented. Deserts were absolutely amazing one was fabulous liquorice with berries the other chocolate pave with Turkish delight ice cream. We had never... More

Like another recent reviewer we had not been to the Joiner's for many years following some appalling front of house service but looking for somewhere local (we live 4 miles away) to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and having seen some good reviews on Tripadvisor we decided to book for lunch. And what an excellent decision that was. The front... More
