Pub renaissance!

We've been visiting this pub regularly for well over 30 years - through all the highs and recent lows. We decided to try it again for dinner last night and were not disappointed. At last somebody has taken the Fleur de Lys and given it the re vamp it desperately needed. It's kept it's local pub feel but with a sensitive re fit, keeping much of the traditional feel to the pub decor with it's old paintings , wooden paneling , open fires etc plus a good range of ales and wines. 3... Recently refurbished I decided to treat a friend to evening meal today. We had the rissoto and a bespoke pizza which were both excellent. The real ale also went down a treat. Also a rarity nowadays a chef that not only prepared our meals but brought it to our table and seemed genuinely interested in our feedback on his food.... More

Booked a table for four but no need as we were the only ones dining! Definitely not a gastro pub! Food mediocre. My wife ordered a fried Camembert but there was no cheese in the batter.....was taken off of bill. Would we return? Only if management changed!

Pub under new management. Upgraded in every aspect. Food vastly improved, clean bar and clean beer glasses. Still is a true local with skittle ally but clean and friendly. Worth a visit

Ok, some may say in need of refurbishment, I say full of character. Friendly pub with limited menu but good quality food. Unpretentious and worth a visit.

Six of us were staying at the Plaine B&B and went to Fleur de Lys for an evening meal, we all selected different dishes, it was nice to have a choice of a smaller portion meal. Everyone enjoyed their selection, and our grandson who only wanted baked beans on toast had seconds !!! The staff were friendly and attentive.

Very good pub food, with fairly wide menu, promptly served, very well presented, and tasty. A very pleasant pub ambience, in genuinely characterful but neat and tidy building on the main street in this picturesque village just south of Bath. Excellent staff....cheerful and professional with the knack of being attentive to the guests' needs whilst not being intrusive. Altogether a... More

Loved this pub ... The landlord was lovely, friendly and welcoming without intruding on our evening. Excellent food, well priced and served promptly, only sorry that we didn't have time for a second visit. Top marks from us and definitely going to go there again.

We were staying at the George Inn but decided to visit the Fleur de Lys one evening. We were very impressed by the welcome given, nothing was too much trouble to accommodate our varied requests at very short notice. The best Fish & Chips tasted on our weekend break!! Thanks very much to the Landlord who made up feel so... More
