Wonderful choice, something a bit different. Great service, attentive without pushy, and very welcoming. Food was, so tasty, good sized portions, beautifully presented. Not what we expected, throughly enjoyed and a special end to the evening.

Great food, roaring log fire, friendly staff and even has a book of the History of these buildings that are over 600 years old. Excellent selection of beers and always drop by when we visit the area. Their Dungeon bar is a great place to have a drink and the toilets are spotless being accessed through the courtyard and heavy... More

Lovely decor in the interior, lots of vintage portraits and great fireplaces. Great food also and a welcoming service.

I love the George but I am now gluten free and two weeks before Christmas I advised the staff and was told I could have the sausages as they were 98% meat and 2% apple and the bacon was ok so I would only be missing out on the stuffing for my Christmas lunch. I did say I could supply... More

We went with twelve other people and were in the dungeon room which was lovely, shame the bar wasn't open in that room but this was a minor problem. The food was hot and tasty, I had the turkey which was lovely and moist. Nice evening.

Went for a Christmas family meal, two of us had the Christmas menu very disappointed the starter was supposed to be Duck rillette on toast with a caramelised onion chutney however I received the duck rillette with some over oiled green leaves - no caramelised onion chutney. Was not informed of any change. We pre ordered the menu as requested... More

We had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was excellent and service was both friendly and punctual. The quality of the food was very good whether we had cereals, fruit or full English. There was a broad choice of menu for breakfast. Dinner proved even better with a very good choice and excellent quality. Not cheap but excellent value. Again service was... More

I used to visit The George when I lived in Bath many years ago. This time we went with friends who hadn't visited the area before. They (and us) absolutely loved it. We loved the building, the history and importantly the food. The food was tasty, well prepared and presented. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we all... More

My husband and I stopped by here for some lunch. Very quiet in here but some lovely rooms to sit in, we had one to ourselves and sat near a lovely open fire. Food was nice but expensive for what it was.

Fantastic historic building on a very busy crossroads. Lovely dining room with large open wood fire. Very good food freshly prepared. Mid price menu was good value for money.
