Myself and my wife took our two Mothers to the MM. The service and the standard of the food was superb, a true Mother's day to remember, and very good value on busy service for the restaurant...we will be back !

Food always good. Atmosphere sometimes a bit lacking. Have been a few times and possibly prefer it for lunch.

The main restaurant is where you want to be - if you are stuck in the long 'corridor' seating, you feel out of it as if you are in a converted garage.

Visited again on the weekend of Mothering Sunday and had lunch for a party of 6. Nice to have the option of either set lunch or a' la carte. Thus very comprehensive choice for all tastes. At this price point very good consistent cooking with high quality ingredients. Pleasant surroundings, good service. One of the better restaurants in the Billericay... More

From the time we walked in to the time we left we experienced fantastic service and everyone was so friendly. The menu was interesting and varied and all our choices were well cooked and presented. The wine list was varied and had some interesting bottles to choose from. We will be back

We visited The Magic Mushroom to have dinner for my birthday. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. I had the pork belly for my main course and it was delicious. Cooked to perfection with lots of lovely different tastes on the plate. My partner had steak which was cooked to perfection with chips which were... More

A gem that belies it's looks. It looks like a "normal" restaurant in a craft area. The restaurant was empty when we arrived but filled to half full when we left. It was a Tuesday lunchtime! I had the option of a two or three course lunch from a restricted menu or a la carte. I chose two courses although... More

Went to the Magic Mushroom for the first time on Saturday lunchtime last week (22 March 2014). There were 4 of us and we all had the set menu. There was a lot of choice so I initially thought it was the a la carte (of which there is a separate menu with even more choice). Excellent, attentive service throughout... More

A family celebration lunch for our Golden Wedding which more than exceeded our expectations; the menu was superb and something for everyone to choose. Service was perfect but discreet and will certainly return, Joy and Peter Allen Benfleet
