Bland

The last time we were in the place was full of smoke from the fire and a bit dark.the food was avarage at best. On a posertive they have a Hugh garden and are very dog and child friendly. Beers ok. It's all hair a bit bland which is a shame as its an amazing location.

Went for lunch today. Took my Mum and my two dogs. It's great they allow dogs in ams it's good to see that having now got rid of carpeted areas dogs can sit anywhere (providing they're on a lead and sociable. ....but in my experience dogs are better mannered than young children when out in pubs ). Anyway, we ordered... More

This place is in such a lovely location with no other pubs around, which is probably why it is so busy whenever I walk past. However, I went here a couple of nights ago and it was a bit of a let down! There was no ale AT ALL or Guinness and I was told that there wouldn't be for... More

To begin the landlord pint GREAT Food crap ! We ordered : Roast turkey - which came with minuscule burnt roasties , soggy veg and a poor piece of meet Rump steak - which was dry , over cooked and tasteless Steak and ale pie - which was dry and lacking flavour for a homemade dish. The Customers were tidying... More

Lovely beer garden for in the summer. The pub itself is very dated and I wouldn't have food here, but its great as a stop off for a sneaky pint on a long walk with the dogs!

As we were leaving the always excellent Boathouse a few days ago, we saw a sign for Jacksons Boat so as I was in the vicinity on my own, I decided to give it a try. I was impressed with the sizeable beer garden which clearly was a big attraction for those with children and/or dogs. There was an outside... More

went again for lunch today with a friend....the food is still pub grub but that is reflected in the price. The place is much cleaner and had a facelift. The staff are more friendly but could be better. with some training and thought it could become even better. on saying that i would go there again...

Visited today with friends we were a large table and ordered seperatlg but asked for the good to come out all together. Our food came out over an hour later sporadically and everything we ordered was wrong. The waitress was the most miserable rude person I've come across. In re end I sent my food back and just asked for... More

I've always loved this pub, first went there as a child with my father in the sixties, after catching tadpoles in the brook on what was the old farm. Spent a lot of time in "The Boat" in my youth, a great pub that brings back lots of happy memories for me. Visited today with my son and daughter, (its... More

Went for a family meal but left after 10 minutes. On entering the lady behind the bar glared at us but we found a table and sat down. My husband went to the bar to order drinks and get the menu. Whilst standing waiting, at a pretty empty bar, a customer (who looked like a regular) walked up and was... More
