After hearing that Jacksons Boat had changed hands four of us visited for Sunday lunch recently after a long walk along the Mersey. We were warmly welcomed and were impressed with the improvement in the place, We had four sunday roasts which were excellent at a very reasonable price. We would certainly recommend this pub. The only downside is that... More

This place has gone down so far, it's scrapping the barrel. I went for a drink with friends, and the minute you open the doors you smell strong stale beer. Dirty tables, carpet needed a serious vacuuming, and the bar staff nowhere to be seen... and when someone did appear they completely ignored us. Needless to say we left and... More

Recently enjoyed an excellent Christmas lunch with a local club. The food was beautifully cooked, served piping hot by extremely pleasant staff who coped brilliantly with nearly 24 discerning customers! Would certainly recommend this restaurant for quality and value for money.

Ive been visiting Jackson's boat since I was a kid and have some really fond memories of the place. I'm please to report I wasnt disappointed. The food was excellent and atmosphere was very cosy and homely. The long haired chef was particularly dishy. All in all. Lovely place for home cooked grub and family atmosphere and it's even dog... Small family visit this lunchtime which I found to be pleasant contrary to the below reviews. Overall I would return, the bar lady was very friendly and gave good customer service. We had a starter to share between us which was enough for three, only complaint from 1 family member was the fact that the onions appeared to be off... More

Jackson's boat looks potentially like a great place. There is a sign saying 'DOGS MUST BE ON A LEAD'. That's good - it's bad (and smelly) enough to have dogs in a pub, but clearly the sign doesn't mean anything... I went in yesterday and a massive dog rushed out from behind a table right up to me. The owner... More

the pub is very busy at weekends and bank holidays although thorough the week much quieter They allow dogs in at the back of the pub on the wooden floors which is great, particularly at this time of year. We have only ever eaten here once, and to be honest, wouldn't again but we do visit on a regular basis... More

We have been here a couple of times walking the dog etc. food is really reasonably priced and very good for pub food. The landlords people skills leave a LOT to be desired but the female bar maid is lovely and amicable. We had a kids fish and chips, we had a halloumi burger and a normal burger. They were... More

Food ...chicken dry as a bone total waste of money. Dreadfully smelly loos. Decor dark and dismal could not read the menu as it was to dark. Bar persons friendly enough. Whole place needs a clean, could not see through the windows there where so dirty.
