Good location for walkers, bikers, etc, great for people with dogs, sadly pub itself is a bit grotty & smells of dogs,(we are dog lovers & have a dog so not a prob for us, but some people may not like this) food is basic pub grub. ok for a quick drink after a walk , definately not somewhere... read more

Nice traditional pub, good food, inexpensive. Happy staff. I like to sit out in this pub as I find the inside dark and smelly (dogs), however today builders were in, so we sat inside. The menu has changed since my last visit. It was ok, hubby likes the Timothy Taylor!

Just reopened and maybe staff not yet bedded in! It was a Sunday pub lunch standard roast lunch ordered at 1230, I was first or second to order and it took 30 mins to arrive! Food was ok, starters good. If I hadn't been in a hurry it wouldn't have mattered but I asked twice about when the roasts pulse... More

Out for a walk along the river and came across this pub,it was a beautiful day and decided to sit outside and have some lunch. The food was ok but took some time to arrive and you could hear the staff in the kitchen swearing at each other !! And when sitting outside you have the usual problem of eating... More

Went down to this establishment for a midweek treat on a nice sunny day. The pub was quite busy, but the staff were efficient as well as friendly. All the food was well presented, piping hot and cooked to perfection. Would recommend a visit here after a walk round the water park, or down the river.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon out in the beer garden. Great place to relax with the dogs or kids after a walk down the Mersey. The food portions were fantastic and very reasonably priced too. The staff were really friendly and despite being quite busy managed to keep the tables clean. Can't wait to spend more sunny afternoons here. Dog... More

Nice staff. Had Sunday lunch which was abit poor to say the least and not good value for money at £7.95 per head. Roast Beef (very chewy/tough) 2 roast potatoes. 2 new potatoes. Gravy which looked made from granules. A side of veg. Would never go back again accept for maybe a drink.food was worth £5 top. Definitely gone down... More

The Jacksons boat is a nice pub that has friendly helpful staff. The food (what there was of it) was fairly tasty. I had the chicken roast however the vegetables were lukewarm and there were not many of them. The chicken was fairly small too. I didn't come away feeling satisfied. In short a nice pub but the food needs... More

After hearing that Jacksons Boat had changed hands four of us visited for Sunday lunch recently after a long walk along the Mersey. We were warmly welcomed and were impressed with the improvement in the place, We had four sunday roasts which were excellent at a very reasonable price. We would certainly recommend this pub. The only downside is that... More
