We waited over 30 mins for a veggie burger; the ladies toilets stank; there was only one beer on draft; there were no skin on fries BUT the veggie burger once it arrived was very tasty; the location is really convenient for walkers and cyclists and the beer garden has a play area and is handy for those with dogs.

Went for a walk around the two waterparks & decided to get some lunch at Jackson's Boat. Been here before for a drink & as it was a nice day decided to sit outside. First off if you don't like dogs then definitely avoid this place, they are everywhere. Don't mind them myself, so put up with all the barking.... More

I'd been told about this place already, and went with friends, but we literally just missed last orders for food. This was my first time here, and it's a mixed review. We both had a roast dinner. I was told at the bar we'd be waiting 40 minutes, which we did. The pub itself is lovely. The decor is what... More

This pub is situated on a popular cycle route. Me and my girlfriend popped in for a drink while cycling and were bombarded with abuse by the chef after eating our own sandwiches whilst consuming the drinks bought at the bar. Not only were we swore at, but this was done in front of a number of people sat in... More

Having read the menu and blurb on their website decided to go here today for a spot to eat.... Really wished I hadn't wasted £25...... Firstly we asked for a starter that was not available so chose nacho's and then ordered fish and chips and a chicken fettuccine. I asked for a ginger beer, non available so ordered something else,... This place is so good on paper. Love dog friendly thing, the bikes, real ale and relaxed vibe. However I won't be coming back because of the substantial negatives I've found on both occasions I visited. First time the bar man was really rude. Last time and this time the beer garden was really untidy. Strewn with discarded serviettes, sauce... More

Visited Jackson's Boat last night with my friend and 13 week old puppy. I was quite looking forward to being able to bring my dog and enjoy some food and a few drinks. Unfortunately the whole experience was ruined by the rudest barman I've ever met. Whilst taking my food order he didn't smile once and seemed to get annoyed... More

Jacksons boat is an ideal location to stop for food & drink whilst walking with your dog. Plenty of nice woodland or waterside walks. Very pretty area. Good food -Dog friendly

Visited on a school day sunny lunchtime. Arrived at 12.20 and given it only opens at 12 was surprised at the amount of litter and overflowing dustbins in the beer garden. Went to order food at 12.30 to be told there was a 45 minute wait on food!!! At least they told us I suppose. They'd only been open half... More

Ignore the published Sunday opening hours or risk being turned away! I arrived on Sunday 30/06 /14 to be told at one minute to nine I had 'missed the boat' metaphorically speaking. The internet leads us to believe opening hours on Sunday night extend to at least 10:30pm. I was informed last orders were 8:30 to enable everyone to depart... More
