Went here on a Sunday lunchtime and ordered the fish finger butty and the pear and blue cheese salad with a side of curly fries. You order at the counter where you find there are lots more drinks available than you see on the menu. You are then given a number to take to your table. The server was not... More

The bean and brush is one of the best cafes in the area. It's relaxed atmosphere, laid-back style, artwork on the walls all add to the experience. But the best thing is the food - lots of locally-sourced food, much cooked on the premises, delicious cakes and even some local beer. Add to that a children's corner with books and... More

Had a lovely breakfast with friends the other day...I had the eggs benedict which you can order a half portion, just the perfect size (always put off ordering at other cafés has 2 eggs benedict too much! Great tea, left full and all for under a fiver!

Its a great place, family friendly and one a few places which had an air of quality. Staff are little hit and miss. Some super some not so. What really lets the place down is the quality of the dishes. They lack flavour, seasoning is so easy to do and so hard to do well. Its an interesting menu but... More

I go to the Bean and Brush quite often for breakfast at the weekend. They do great coffee and the food is always nice and fresh.

We've been going here for a while the food is still good quality, lovely and fresh, but customer service, particularly in the arts area is going downhill. Staff used to be really helpful and friendly, but on our last few visits they've seemed disinterested and generally unhelpful. The arts centre is the only reason we go to the cafe so... More

Visited this lovely little place for lunch on Saturday with the family. A delightful place with fantastic homemade, quality food at fantastic prices for the amount of food. I had the fish finger sandwich on doorstep white bread-and I have to say it was amazing-filled me up until breakfast the next day! The fish fingers were moist and definitely not... More

I come here all the time. I usually go for the soup and sandwich deal which has always been great. There's a good choice of food items and drinks and sweet treats too. They do Teapigs tea which I love and the atmosphere is lovely. I have also been with a friend to 'relive our childhood' through trying out the... More
