Description: The Fat Loaf restaurant in Sale is an absolute find and a local favourite...
The Fat Loaf restaurant in Sale is an absolute find and a local favourite. The brainchild of chefs Paul Taylor and Tim Wood who trained under Michelin-starred Marco Pierre White at the Lowry, The Fat Loaf is a brilliant bistro. The open kitchen lets you watch them work. Sourcing is taken seriously – local wherever possible, excellent at all times. The menu is modern European prepared with imagination and flair. It’s perfectly set in a storefront restaurant with slate floors, white chairs, neutrally coloured walls and an array of art photography on display. Formerly a bring-your-own-wine place, The Fat Loaf now offers a short, thoughtful, international wines list at prices so reasonable you’ll have to blink

Great Evening

Went to The Fat Loaf with the in-laws to celebrate selling their flat . A really fabulous meal; my Tuna Steak was perfection and the flatiron steaks were reported to be very tasty. And Cheshire Ice Cream and liquor coffees to finish. Super place, super food and great cooks to boot! Always a... read more

went with my family for celebratory meal but the menu was small so I had the restaurant 'special' for the night which they called flatiron steak. It was inedible rubbish. However, to be fair, the rest of my party enjoyed their meal so maybe it was just a bad choice. Won't be going back.

Management response:

Hi Alan, first of all let me apologise for the fact you had a substandard meal here at fat loaf. I am glad to hear the rest of the party was fine but am concerned that you found your flat iron steak inedible. We use a good quality local butcher and so we dont expect this to be the case.... More

We searched tripadvisor for a local restaurant with good reviews and found Fat Loaf. Awesome. We had a couple of drinks and main courses the bill was reasonable under £25.00. Fat Loaf Salad and a Fat Loaf Pasty. They are a lot better looking and tasting than their names suggest. Recommend no hesitation. We are goping bacvk tonight for the... More

Have been in many times...never disappointed! Staff offer excellent service, always welcoming, have never felt pushed to leave a table when busy or near to closing time. excellent food (even better when on the early done). Also highly recommend for functions - beautiful and plentiful buffet options for reasonable price!

Prior to 1990 you wouldn't find fresh tuna in a cookery book in this country. We ate tons of the tinned stuff but my own experience of fresh tuna was in a tomato & garlic based casserole on the Algarve 30 + years ago The Fat Loaf are now serving it up as " A British Grill" & it was... More

From start to finish my experience at Fat Loaf was amazing. I had the Pork Belly with black pudding and my partner had the lamb burger... Was mouth watering. The service was great and loved that you could see your food being prepared. We also shared a Sticky Toffee pudding which is my fave dessert... Best Sticky Toffee pudding I... More
