Description: The Fat Loaf restaurant in Sale is an absolute find and a local favourite....
The Fat Loaf restaurant in Sale is an absolute find and a local favourite. The brainchild of chefs Paul Taylor and Tim Wood who trained under Michelin-starred Marco Pierre White at the Lowry, The Fat Loaf is a brilliant bistro. The open kitchen lets you watch them work. Sourcing is taken seriously – local wherever possible, excellent at all times. The menu is modern European prepared with imagination and flair. It’s perfectly set in a storefront restaurant with slate floors, white chairs, neutrally coloured walls and an array of art photography on display. Formerly a bring-your-own-wine place, The Fat Loaf now offers a short, thoughtful, international wines list at prices so reasonable you’ll have to blink

Went to the Fat Loaf with our friends Sue and Steve before flying out to Gran Canaria for our 25 wedding anniversary April 2015. From the outside it looked like a sixties cafe but once in it was really nice.the meal I ordered did not arrive on time but I was given a free beer which I thought was ok.all... More

We booked a table for ten for a birthday celebration and everyone was delighted with their meals. Everything is cooked from fresh using local ingredients where possible and the quality of the food was excellent. Desserts are always a twist on traditional favourites and so tasty. Their January deals offer amazing value for money with 25% off the food bill... More

I visited with friends on a Saturday evening. Everything started OK. We all agreed that the starters and main courses were very average and that we would probably not go back. At no point during the evening were we offered deserts or coffees. The bill just arrived after the main courses. The plates had not even been taken away. I... More

A fab small bistro type restaurant. The guys remember all their customers, make them feel welcome.it is so refreshing to eat quality food in a totally unpretentious place. Our meals included king Prawn and Scallop starters. The Sea Bass which was to die for and the award winning Cheese and onion pie. With 25% off the food bill in January... More

The food and service was very good. Found it quite noisy as the sound of people talking seemed to echo round the restaurant. Décor and pictures on wall interesting, done by local artist. I would go again

I went for a birthday party. The place wasn't really big enough. The food was tasty but expensive. Manchester prices in the suburbs. While the portion sizes were adequate for the ladies. Some of the men were left hungry. Try it first for a treat.
