Description: The Fat Loaf restaurant in Sale is an absolute find and a local favourite. The brainchild of chefs Paul Taylor and Tim Wood who trained under Michelin-starred Marco Pierre White at the Lowry, The Fat Loaf is a brilliant bistro. The open kitchen lets you watch them work. Sourcing is taken seriously – local wherever possible, excellent at all times. The menu is modern European prepared with imagination and flair. It’s perfectly set in a storefront restaurant with slate floors, white chairs, neutrally coloured walls and an array of art photography on display. Formerly a bring-your-own-wine place, The Fat Loaf now offers a short, thoughtful, international wines list at prices so reasonable you’ll have to blink

My wife and I had a meal at the Fat Loaf a while ago. Whilst my wife,s meal was OK, I was very disappointed with my duck breast. It was definitely underdone. I complained about the meal ,but the waiter was quite indifferent . I won't be going back to the Fat Loaf.

Prices seem to have risen and the portions have reduced. The main courses were more like starters. Quality of the food was still OK. I have visited regularly for many years but not sure if I will go again. The restaurant has had fewer and fewer customer over my last few visits and if it doesn't improve it may not... More

We had an excellent meal here. The food is not overly complicated but is extremely well executed. Service was warm but not intrusive. The room is simply set up but as with the food there is great attention to detail.

Brilliant food. Fantastic restaurant. A hidden gem in Manchester. If this was in town it would be double the price. Recommended.

Food and service was excellent. The food was very tasty and of great quality, but very expensive for what it was. My husband had the pork belly which was a small square of pork with crackling on a bed of cabbage and bacon (2 bits of bacon) and it was £16/£17. I had breast of duck which again was on... More
