Good restaurant , good fish

We went there on a sunday evening. We were lucky we made a reservation, it was full. The food is very good, the staff good. We have only one remark. The red wines we had were to warm. They were at "room temperature" but that was to high (24 degr). We had an excellent Lirac but it tasted bad... read more

We are from California and have traveled a lot - so we can handle the attitudes of the French service staff. We should have known better than to order the Maki/Sushi at this place - it was so bad that no one in my family could eat it. I wish that I had taken a picture - the rolls were... More

Excellent cooking with some unusual features - you don't expect a sushi starter in rural France! Very good selection of wines with many by the glass or in 50 cl carafes. Disabled access - the outdoor terrace where we ate had quite a steep ramp but the efficient and charming staff gave us a push. Definitely our best meal in... More

Indifferent and arrogant service .. Mediocre food ..pichet wine tastless and dull ... why is it called a fish restaurant? but at least you can eat here without having Moules or Crepes ... Quite an achievement for Pornic .. A pretty port but a gastronomic desert!

In general it's quite impressive to find bad food in France. The average quality/price is high. We choose this restaurant based on the good reviews we read on tripadvisor. We are quite surprised as our experience is the contrary. The cooking is experimental: too many flavours in one dish which results in forgetting the product itself. Products like mackerel and... Nice ambiance, excellent food an good wines..What more do you need in this quaint village of Pornic? Fish of course is the main reason to come here and it is made with all the delicacy you would expect in Brittany. Not too expensive if you take the house wine which is totally acceptable.
