This was our second visit to El Fuego. The last time was in 2011. Olivier welcomed us and introduced us to his wife. There was a musical group playing there that night so there were a lot of people there having drinks. The food was fantastic. There was a menu on the wall and some specials, including head cheese, pork... More

We had a meal here while we stayed at the nearby El Castillo hotel. Olivier, the owner, was great. We were the only guests that evening. The restaurant is quite small but has a charming atmosphere - the tables are outside under a wooden roof. Olivier immediately offered us an apritif on the house and explained how it works at... More

We went early and had cocktails made from the fruit on the property. After a bit we were challenged to a lively game of Pétanque. My Dad nor I had ever played but, when in El Fuego. We played for Beer and we handily lost. 4 Beers and 3 new friends later, we were informed that our loss was to... More

We ate at El Fuego one day for lunch and another night for dinner on our trip this February. We were staying at Celine and Olivier's B&B, otherwise, we might not have tried it since they are calling it a steakhouse. On prior trips, we've learned to avoid meat and poultry dishes and stick with seafood. The quality of meat... More

Tried El Fuego for lunch and was very impressed with the setting and food. I had the Eggplant Flan for a starter, and the whole fish for an entree. Both were excellent. Even the white rice that came with the fish was exceptional. Prices were reasonable, ($31 USD) for 3 glasses of wine, starter, and entree. It is billed as... More

We rented a house very near El Fuego and with two families, we brought five kids with us to dinner. As mentioned in the reviews, their menu varies and they did not have a kids menu but they were extremely accommodating and made them a smorgasbord of wonderful food (including bone marrow which was excellent). The adult food was terrific.... More

At the end of March of 2011 I spent 7 wonderful days enjoying all that the small town of Ojochal, Costa Rica had to offer. While this town is know for it's variety and excellance of restaurants, there is one that was well worth multiple visits. I experienced 9 different restuaurants in the area, but I visited El Fuego 3... More

What a great experience I had at the Fuego Restaurant! Olivier, the owmer is a great host! He has the French touch in the midle of the jungle. I enjoyed good food surrounded by the beautiful colors of the tropical trees and plants.I could hear all kinds of birds singing. It was for me a real joy!
