It is a shame that for a Local bakery/deli that the expresso is so bad. It always tastes a bit burned. I have the same machine at home and I use Dark Pilon beans and the coffee is excellent.

When visiting Guaynabo, this is my very favorite bakery and sandwich shop of all time. The owners greet you warmly each and every time. The pastries are fresh and the pasteles de Guayaba have me coming back on a daily basis! Also the pasteles con queso are a delight any time of the day. OK, I don't just eat the... More

Altamira Bakery has a lot of great choices. From the "to die for" Bistec Sandwich, the coffee, the Sandwich de Croquetas and the empanadillas de pollo, whatever you decide to order willexceed yyour expectations. Don't hesitate to try a different sandwich in every visit.

Had the pastrami sandwich , the quality of the meat is good (not as juicy as at La Patisserie in Plaza) BUT they put a swweet sauce on it which dramatically changes the flavor vs. a typical pastrami deli sandwich, if you want traditional taste tasting pastami sandwich ask them to hold the sauce. Note: they also don't sell chips... More

The pastries are fresh, service is friendly - your order is taken by the owners who are always at the front cashier. The coffee is fantastic. They even make Cuban coffee if you order it. The sandwiches are excellent and all made to order. Try the Mallorca sandwich or the sandwich de bistec. You wont regret it.

The bakery is fine but their pastramy sandwich is the best I have had in Puerto Rico. It is not Carnegie Deli style since it comes with a sauce that is a bit sweet. I highly recommend the Pastrami Sandwich and the coffee.
