We have been staying up in Formby and were looking for somewhere nice to eat and came across this place. It was really nice we visited several times, the waiting staff were all very friendly, in particular Jess and Mikey such happy friendly people and doing their utmost to please. The food was really good and the presentation was the... More

we booked a table and arrived a what appeared to be a busy time. We were greeted by friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Service was really very good, and the meal was tasty, hot, and excellent value. Obviously you take as you find, but how the previous review could rate the restaurant as anything less than... More

Visted with family, restaurant not full, had to wait 25 mins after ordering, for main course, no explanation as to delay. Food hot and tasty when it arrived! Dessert menus left with us but no waitress returned to ask for our order, eventually saw a waitress looking in our direction, so we asked for bill. One course for 5 people and... More

First time for the Cross House for a meal. Pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of the 3 course for £9.95. Quick service and well cooked for most dishes. The steak was a bit chewy and not the best cut. The fish was good and well cooked. Drink prices are good but the wine was pricey and not the... More

Went here on sunday 19th july. this was our second visit , and this time it was a lot better. service was excellent , to the point that my wife had the soup starter and it had a funny taste to it , she asked the waitress if she could have something else, she had garlic mushrooms and they gave... The Cross House had a makeover a little while ago, but the changes have not been for the better. Families are exiled to the dark new end of the pub, to facillitate more bar space the regular boozers can block. The bar is undermanned and as a result the bar staff overworked, some not all, of the waiting on staff can... More
