5 Sterne / Stars. We had a great dinner today. Duck liver pate, lamb for main dish and the fantastic crumble of the day with custard creme! Enjoy!!!

We have eaten here several times over recent years and have not yet been disappointed. It is hard to chose what to eat as it is all so delicious - it makes us want to come back every night to try everything in turn! The pub is always busy so it's worth getting there early to get a table. We... More

Dropped into this pub for lunch to find it strangely almost deserted. Strangely because the food, beer and service were all top class. Plus it has a pool table and dart board if you fancy some post-lunch sport! Can't recommend it highly enough.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a meal here during our time in North Devon. This is a real traditional pub, with the menus written on chalk boards above the fireplace, and a friendly welcome from behind the bar. We enjoyed a 3 course meal, which was of very good quality, and had we of found this place sooner, we... More

We fell into this pub after a long tiring drive, were warmy greeted but chose simple dishes - steak pie and ham, eggs and chips, succulent, delicious. On our next visit we were more adventurous; a wonderful lamb shank and duck cooked perfectly, slightly rare with a subtle sauce. The strawberry desert was a little uninteresting but the cheese cake had... More

I visited with friends whilst on holiday this Easter. The food was delicious and service friendly. We did have a very long wait for our food but it was well worth it as my sea bass and chocolate torte were amazing! When I return next time I may try to get there earlier to avoid the wait.
