Busy, even on Monday!

Our restaurant of choice in Sao Bras being close, we drove down to Sta Luzia (a beautiful drive in springtime, by the way), for a coastal experience. We visited this little restaurant last April and their food was good. The waiter was very helpful to find the fish we liked. They also had good wine and beer, espresso and dessert.

As you'd expect from the name of the restaurant, octopus is the thing to eat here, and it doesn't disappoint. I had it grilled, with lemon and garlic - four or five long tentacles, coiled around the dish. It was as tender as a large prawn and just as tasty. Worth a visit for the local speciality, and a beautiful... More

The starters were absolutely better than what most restaurants serve, the octopus was incredibly tender and the dessert cake was OK. The house red wine was very good. Service was quick and friendly and on top of this, we had very good professional fado music. All this for a reasonable price. We have been here before, and we will come... More

Stopped here for lunch, even though we are not octopus eaters, but the menu posted outside looked good and dish of the day was pork with clams. It was 1.15pm and there were only 2 other diners outside, about 6 inside. Ordered port with clams - 9 euros and a steak - 12 euros. We do not eat olives so... More

A bad service due to unorganized staff. The food was dry and poorly made...the octopuss per se was good but the dough surrounding it very oily and uncooked. It has great potential but it has to be resized

We were told by some friends who had visited Tavira to give this place a chance, since Santa Lucia is known as the Octopus' Capital. The meal was tasty, although it took a bit long to arrive, but the waiter apologized and was very nice about it. We had a beautiful view over the Ria Fomosa, enjoying the sun while... More

Excelent service, very good atmosphere and the food... very, very good! Try Caril de Polvo, if you like spicy food, or the traditional Arroz de Polvo. Both 5*!!!

We have been there a year before for a Fado Night and the food was fine, so we thought it might be nice to come back for another dinner. But the service was slow and we got the olives and bread only when we had already the starter. And then there was raw garlic on everything, the salad, the polvo... More
