Nice on a sunny day

We stopped here as they had tables outside and the weather was nice. Had an excellent meal, octopus baked with garlic, tuna pate', an octopus starter and vegetable soup. Each item was excellent and they were happy to pack up what my wife could not eat (she eats like a bird).

Five friends, we arrived in Santa Luzia in search of Sunday lunch. Having spied gingham tablecloths we investigated. It was a bit off-putting to be asked rather brusquely if we were on the waiting list but we hadn't realised then that this restaurant was in the Michelin guide; it deserves it. Once seated we had excellent service and what food!... More

Try polvo à tasquinha or polvo à pescador and order a bottle of green wine. Extremely perfect texture sauce is incredible. You'll be soooooooo phucking happy.

5 different staters, 5 different mains for our family of five. Everything was superb. We still have to come back many times before we will have tried even only all the different octopus dishes. Amazing variety of flavours, but always tender and yummy.

It used to be very nice and friendly. Kitchen and food are still so and so, but the quality service is gone. Seems the waiters (and owners) are doing you a big favour by selling you their food. Loads of arrogance and heavy on the bill. Forget it.

Having read other reviews, we should have ordered octopus but only maybe. Do not order a prawn cocktail unless you love lashings of mayo and shredded lettuce and like to hunt for a prawn. In this case A prawn cut into minute pieces. The Fish and chips left a lot to be desired, soggy batter and large crisp style fried... More

Another traditional restaurant in a typical setting serving traditional Portuguese cuisine, mainly seafood. I found it on the Michelin web (note: NOT a star resto!) as it doesn’t show on the ranking for Tavira here, only Santa Luzia) and I was not disappointed. Quite contrary to a lot of comments here I found the service good and the staff nice.... More

It's the same all over the world, look for the restaurant that is full, it always tells you something, and yet again this establishment can be spotted a mile away. While primarily an octopus restaurant the steak is excellent, if you like to be a bit adventures go for the baked octopus in olive oil and garlic, beautiful
