A nice surprise

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. First of all, the town of Pietrasanta is so lovely, definitely worth a visit!! The restaurant has a lovely terrace and being on our honeymoon, they gave us a very nice table in a private corner that they decorated for us, a lovely touch. The... read more

The 2 owners and the menu are as much eccentric as you can think. if you really want a break on italian food come here and have india or thai dishes. of course they also do special sicilian dishes, it's the most good energy place in town, stop by and have fun!!!!

As his place is the shrine of thousand colors and objects also the flavors he is presenting are a wonderful spectrum. Pino is through and through Sicilian but educated in Swiss that makes of him a person who appreciates contrast and is able to serve them at the table with a sensual preciseness. You can go from very typical Sicilian... More

The restaurant lies in a calm street without cars, kids can run. The menu is a mix of Italian, oriental and Indian. All our dishes where tasty - pasta with tomato sauce for the kids, waterlemon feta salad, vegetarian couscous. Actually, I had hesitated a lot before ordering this couscous as it can be a dry affair. But it was... More

Located in a haven for artists, this town is full of galleries and artisan shops scattered along small cobblestone roads. Trattoria il Marzocco is truly a must see! The chef Pino boasts a blue beard on most days, and serves his creations in the most wonderful of ways. The menu is hand written in Italian but not to worry...Pino calls... More

Food was OK at best both of us struggled to find items on the menu we liked. The owner or at least the guy in charge fancied himself as a DJ and kept changing the music and cranking it up really loud for the 1st minute of half a dozen songs. This further detracted from a very disappointing evening

It serves an eclectic fare not all deserving the allure of the menu. We have tasted four dishes and only one satisfied our palate - pumpkin soup with amaretti. Vegetarian polpettine were of chick peas only that disintegrated on touch, precious and costly ovoli were smothered with tomato and thick pasta. Service was attentive which could not be said of... We had an excellent dinner experience in Pietrasanta. Eclectic and creative cuisine, great service and attentive staff. Try the avocado with shrimps and crayfish, baked figs with gorgonzola cheese, honey chicken with rosewater, ricciola fish with potatoes. Good choice of wine, lively atmosphere. Prices quite reasonable for Pietrasanta.

Its 7 years since we ate here and on our return this evening we found it extended and improved. We arrived early without booking and got the last table. Our waitresses were fluent in several languages and were able to give us a long list of 'specials' for this evening. A starter of baked fig with Gorgonzola, crispy pancetta and... More

After sitting down and reviewing the menu, we had a moment or two of trepidation. It certainly didn't offer the types of food we'd been eating the last two weeks. We were glad we stayed, because the food was tasty, complex, and retained a certain Italian authenticity in its flavorings and pureness of ingredients. If you want to skip the... More
