Fantastic diner

we went for a late dinner and even on Monday night you need a reservation as they are always busy and very few tourists. It was the second time we tried to eat there and the waiter remembered us and fit us in. Every table was filled. The menu is in a magazine Art Book with great pictures of food.... read more

We've been twice in the last two years. The food is consistently excellent. Has the tasting menu for lunch. Highlights were a divine tordello with a wonderfully rich, complex ragu; gnudi with a salty mix of small squid and Zucchini flowers; wonderfully steamed sea bream and a super sweet shrimp with house made mayonnaise; and a melt in your mouth... Artistic overtones and a menu merging tradition and modernity. Well presented food with outstanding flavours served by friendly staff all embraced by Filippo himself. Impressive wine list including local wines, well advised by the sommelier. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We haven't heard this quaint restaurant which was modern with soft tones. The staff were very friendly and Philip made his way to talk to everyone how do each of the tables. He was helpful and offering us options for dinner. The only complaint is that the anchovies were not white which is what we were told and the wine... More

In a town full of art, mainly sculpture, Filippo is an artist and an artisan with food. Delicious local produce, accompanied by a varied wine list, with local wines well chosen and very fairly priced. The marinated anchovy fillets made a perfect starter, and a "trancho de ombrina" (translates as croaker fish in English) served on a croquette of chick... More

We were treated royally by the staff, the food was tasty, the ambience both modern and elegant. Great wine list. We noticed that the chef uses a lot of Butter, which is not to our taste, but every course was delicious and they fawned over us. Surprised at some of the negative comments.

For a classic, true Italian food experience, this is possibly the best restaurant in Pietrasanta. I would give another restaurant about equal "points' just down the same street, but it is fish oriented, whereas Filippo is offering more classic Italian fare. The menu is somewhat limited which gives you a hint their formula is clearly focused on Quality and not... More

On a quiet street in Pietrasanta, Italy, this restaurant has an outdoor terrace, perfect for lunch, that has great fish and meat dishes and fresh local produce with a good wine list. The service is excellent and the meals are quite reasonably priced.

The reason we nearly didn't eat here was due to the last few reviews...and that would have been our loss. We arrived to eat on a Friday night without a booking. We were welcomed and it was explained to us that they were full inside but they could make a table available outside. This was perfect as we wanted to... More

Finally we succeeded this year to make a reservation at Restaurant Fillipo. We had high expectations. But what a disappointment! The starter of courget with ricotta had a cowardly taste, the amuse the same. My husband had chosen for a pasta and that was nice. The vealcheek was completely tasteless. In the table next to us were 2 guests from... More
