Delightful atmosphere

As an Agatha Christie fan I found the atmosphere delightful . The scones while not traditional in appearance still tasted first class.

Everyone we told we were going to the dandenongs said we must go to Miss Marples. So we did! Atmosphere is really lovely and staff welcoming BUT how can a cafe renowned for its baking serve scones that are in no way or form scones!! My 88 year old mother was so looking forward to her Devonshire tea and chose... More

I had heard great reviews about Miss Marple's Tea Room and was told it was a 'must' when visiting Sassafras to try the scones. We walked in at around 11:45am on a Sunday and the venue was packed, there was not a seat left, therefore, we had to wait 45 minutes for a table. Which was fine, as they took... More

We had driven out of the city to get away from it and see a bit more of the area and came across the quaint town. In the centre of the town stood the tea room. You cannot miss it, it's the building that looks like it has been dropped out of a low budget Robin Hood film. We had... More

Worth going just to say I've been there but certainly not worth queuing up for, not allowed to share a pot off tea and some off the portions were tiny. Good was tasty but again nothing to write home about.

They don't take bookings so drove over an hour to get there with a group of 10 and got caught in traffic - so turned up at 4.40pm only to be told "kitchen closed". I then asked for a few take away scones as my son was upset and the lady behind the counter said "you can buy the jam... More

This place was highly recommended by some friends who been to Melbourne. At the door, the staff took down our reservation and advised us to be back after 30min. Yes, the place was running in full capacity and there is a long list of queue to have their meals. You can choose to wait at an holding area or shop... More

We ordered the scones and the chocolate & pecan mud cake. The portion is huge!! Both dishes is delicious but a bit overpriced. Like most reviews said, the scones here is not like the traditional scones we see everyday. The scone comes in one big square piece. It still has the taste and texture like middle of the normal scone... More

Worth the trip from Melbourne just for Miss Marple's fluffy scones with homemade jam and cream - finished with a hot pot of tea. Super friendly service and charming decor.
