Mums birthday at Miss Marples

Although you cannot book a table we went on a wet day so the crowd was not too big and we got in within 45 mins. The food is very good and the staff are excellent but I don't know that i would wait 2 hrs for a table which is not uncommon on a busy day.

We visited here from the UK on two occasions - one in 2013 and again in 2014 - Can highly recommend the ploughman's lunch - mountains of salad! The cottage pie was good too, also the cream teas were to die for! Coming back to Melbourne later this year, and will visit Miss Marples again...

Service - hit and miss depending on waitress. Food very average, had chicken, pineapple & cheese fingers which were soggy on bottom, not sure why they were served with a mountain of alphalfa sprouts on top, a little side salad would have been nicer. Hubby had the pastie, he said it was dry and tasteless, it didn't look very appetising.... More

I live local and used to like this tearoom's environment but not anymore since it becomes somewhat a tourist attraction. Staff are friendly but absolutely no booking or add your name to waiting list by phone. They are THAT busy. Average wait time for 4 people is 45 minutes to 1 hour anytime during the day besides the first few... More

We went on Good Friday and the place was packed. We arrived just after 11 and it was already full and were told to come back at 12:15. Service by the friendly staff was excellent. The seating is abit cramped so you are less than a metre from the next table. As per the other reviews, the scones were not... More

We visited for lunch on a week day. Previously this was a good time to visit but on this day it was packed. It seams that they are a victim of their own success. We did get a seat but it seams like the atmosphere has been sacrificed for extra tables. The food was nice and homemade, but we were... More

Very disappointed- with a reputation as positive as this has held for so long - I'd have to question how much longer it would be rated so highly. I was astonished to be served a square piece of microwaved cake labelled a scone- by all means visit to experience the quaint charm and cup of tea but pass on the... More

Had lunch at Miss Marples recently and enjoyed the pastie, beef pie and side salad. The staff were attentive and friendly. As our visit was during the week, we didn't have to wait for a table. If going during a busy time, place your name down for a table and they wander the shops until the allocated booking time. The... More
