Not as good as it used to be

We visited for lunch on a week day. Previously this was a good time to visit but on this day it was packed. It seams that they are a victim of their own success. We did get a seat but it seams like the atmosphere has been sacrificed for extra tables. The food was nice and homemade, but we were... read more

Very disappointed- with a reputation as positive as this has held for so long - I'd have to question how much longer it would be rated so highly. I was astonished to be served a square piece of microwaved cake labelled a scone- by all means visit to experience the quaint charm and cup of tea but pass on the... More

l was very disappointed in Miss Marple's tea Room. The scones just are not scones but a slap of cake cut into big rectangle shapes which went dry before you finished them which l didn't .The cream was proper cream which was good also the jam. l also felt that it was to cramped it was like having morning tea with... Had lunch at Miss Marples recently and enjoyed the pastie, beef pie and side salad. The staff were attentive and friendly. As our visit was during the week, we didn't have to wait for a table. If going during a busy time, place your name down for a table and they wander the shops until the allocated booking time. The... More

My wife and I visited Miss Marple's again recently on a Friday. We arrived just before noon and were seated within 5 minutes. We had a window seat and enjoyed the charm and the atmosphere of this popular tea room. We both ordered Quiche Lorraine and were presented with a lovely serving consisting of fluffy eggs. My slice didn't have... More

Lovely atmosphere with old world charm however it is very crowded and noisy when full. unfortuately we gamd a day when there wemre a few screaming babies so we really didn't enjoy being here as much as we could off. Good food, lovely staff & will try again.

Lovely atmosphere and old worlde ,staff friendly and courteous and orders were delivered to table quickly ,desserts very nice and generous proportions, another guest ordered a sundae and trifle both looked amazing ,scones were dry and not the traditional round scone, the iced chocolate drink tasted great.

I visited in 2014 with a small group and was blown away with the place! Loved the food and loved the atmosphere. The staff were charming and I found all the paraphernalia, memorabilia and tonnes of teapots fabulous. I'll be back !

We'd always order the Devonshire Scones when we visit the restaurant. The jam is especially yummy. It does not leave a sour aftertaste unlikely jams from the supermarkets. My friends also love to order their fish and chips!
