Description: Had a friend recommend it and I have to say, one of the best Steaks I have ever tasted and the Vegtables were clean, crisp and juicy. An English Tudor Style Decor. Will be back, perhaps to taste Pancakes this time. Family run and Nero the Owner who was also waiting the tables was a delight to deal with, very attentive.

we went there as part of a small party of 12 incl 3 children, the service was slow with a 20 & 25minute wait for a red wine and a beer the only drinks i purchased for my wife and I. the meals were fairly bland on all reports although my kangaroo was very nice. The restaurant would have been... More

$5 for a small flat glass of lemonade for the children - you're got to be joking! Over priced, uninterested staff, terrible décor, and confusing pieces of paper put in front of us that was supposed to be the menu - no, I will not be back. With the excellent restaurants in the Dandenong Ranges, this one needs a good... More

We visited Flippin Pancakes for the first time in many years for a Saturday lunch. The open fire was burning and on a cold Melbourne day, that was a welcome sight. The menu was varied, but not extensive and is a little on the expensive side. The service was good, polite and attentive. Our food was nice and it is... More

We had fond memories of visiting this place over the years and decided to head back there. The first thing I noticed was the lack of cars in the carpark, which struck me as strange as the last few times we went there you could hardly find a park. When we looked at the menu it was fairly disappointing but... More

Staying with a friend who lives not far from Sassafrass we decided to go and give it a try for lunch. We are both in our 70's and my very tiny friend, with an appetite to match, asked the very friendly waitress what size the potato pancakes were and was told not too large. Her 'Canadian' style pancakes arrived and... More

We thought we would try this mountain restaurant after driving past. Rude staff, food was terrible, kids refused desert because pancakes taste "yuck" $5 for a small glass of soft drink, $20 for tasteless pancake with an egg, entree prawns (5) $20 and felt sick all the way home! 3 people in restaurant all night and they were very unhappy... We live in Olinda, but yesterday was our first time at Flippin Pancakes. My husband had pancakes, bacon and eggs ('the Canadian') and I had eggs benedict. There was a huge group in, and the waitress was kind enough to let us know it might take longer than usual to get the food. I asked if I could substitute ham... More

We chose this place on line and had second thoughts when we arrived as it was practically empty and didn't look like the decor had been updated since the early 80's. When the food came out however my expectations were blown out of the water. Three of us had steak and it was really delicious and the helping was so... More
