Definately worth a visit

My partner and I decided to have a mid-week trip up the Dandenongs and stopped at Fortnums for lunch. Bookings recommended - we didn't book and wondered why they asked when we were the 2nd couple.....it soon filled up. The menu is not extensive but a good selection of foods..I have the beef pie... read more

Was always a nice place to eat, but always a little on the expensive side. Now the portion size of the meals has lessened, there are better options in the Dandenongs. Lots of nice bakeries in the Dandenongs!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch and had the soup of the day and a couple of desserts: it was three quarters full and the staff were attentive and the food came pretty quickly. The pumpkin, ginger and garlic soup was a goodly sized portion and tasted great. Well priced. Job done.

My family and I enjoyed a delightful lunch today with wholesome comfort food and the best scones I've ever had! Beautiful dining room reminds me of an English conservatory. The staff, the ambiance and the food were all outstanding, keep up the good work Fortnums, we will be back!

The dining room is very nice and the staff were friendly but the menu has definitely seen better days. The food was rather dull and flavourless and overpriced for the quality. This could be a great place if they improved the food.

The atmosphere was very pleasant, as were the staff, but the food was flavourless and boring. We had three different meals so it wasn't just an unfortunate choice. Also, one of our group is a vegetarian and there was little on offer that was suitable.

The food fulfills the promise of the delightful decore in a very elegant setting. Priced better than local cafés, the food is excellent, always. Dined here a number of times, sent friends, always excellent. Worth a trip.

Staff very friendly and attentative even after a very busy day with lots of foreign tourists. Lovely room, very clean and the food was delicious. Had just climbed the 1000 steps so we both had the Jacket potato with salad which was so yum. Coffee was great also. All the food coming out to other patrons looked mouth watering as... More

Excellent food at a reasonable price. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We went during the week and haven't experienced it when the town is full of tourists.
