Best coffee in Northern Thailand!

That's not a supportable claim, but the coffee, roasted and ground by the husband and wife owners of Bamboo Mexican, is the best we had in our four weeks in Thailand. Owner is eccentric and extremely proud of his coffee and of his home made whole grain breads, and these were also excellent. His... read more

If you like Mexican food, you will LOVE this restaurant. The owner has a great sense of humor. He tells you that their food is no good and then blows your mind with delicious Mexican. The tortilla chips are thin and crispy with just the right amount of salt. The salsa is made from scratch and delicious!! It's not super... More

We only ate at one restaurant in Chiang Kong so I can't do a comparison however I will go out on a limb here and suggest that it would be hard to find dining in the town. Honestly, Mexican food in regional Thailand? Yeah well, it was great. I'm not sure I've had better Mexican food anywhere (never been to... More

The food at Bamboo was excellent. My wife and I were both feeling gastrnomic discomfort when we hit Chiang Khong. Jib and his wife took care of us and made our recovery more pleasant. We ate there three times in as many days. The bread and bagels were superb. When you are tired of rice and veggies, the burritos will... More

Thought we would give this a bash as it had good reviews, glad we did. The food was great, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for I say, the owner Jib is great fun, he even treated us to a some 'Blues' songs on his guitar when everyone had left, brilliant. Offered to make us some sandwich's... More

Had wonderful freshly made Mexican food, beautiful flavours and presentation. Not bad for a man whose never been to Mexico. Cooked from the heart. Not cheap but worth it. The owner, Jib, is a great character and joined us with some songs on his guitar at the end of the evening. Great night, thank you. Sandwiches for our boat trip... More

We had been struggling to find delicious whole grain bread in Thailand and were getting over crapy processed white bread. This place home bakes amazing grainy bread and is an awesome place for breakfast. Coffee and muesli is also great!

Great food, decent prices and good service. The couple running the restaurant are lovely and working really hard to provide something different in Chiang Khong. We had enchiladas and burritos, there is a bit of a wait as the food is all made fresh (our food came 20-30 mins after ordering) but it's worth the wait! The coffee is also... More

This is the best Mexican food we've had in Thailand. You don't come to Thailand to get better Mexican food than Mexico. But it's pretty close. Good quality and quantity. You get what you pay for.

We read the reviews of this restaurant and were expecting much more. The food is mediocre and service was extremely slow the night we went. There is a sign saying that good food takes time to prepare but we felt that it didn't need to take as long as it did. We waited for 20 minutes just to get a... More
